Also, we included the daily tip for our cabin crew and I hope we're not expected to tip them more.

Hi PatricF,  tipping is a hot topic on message boards with more opinions than people, it is like asking if Liver and onions taste good. The daily prepaid tip is the standard tip on most cruiselines and has been the standard on RCL for quite awhile. To answer your question about expected to tip more? The answer is NO, however you have the option to tip more if you wish.

We cruise on the Grandeur every year.  In my honest opinion, I do not think the ship is a good fit for kids or teens.  Again, this is just my opinion, others might disagree.

    Grandeur is HORRIBLE for kids.

Do not bring anyone under 21 on Grandeur.

    HORRIBLE

Maybe that will reduce the number of kids on Grandeur.  😄 😄 😄 😄

Are you 2 sounding the same drum? LOL

  3. My question is about the online waiver for the Flowrider and Rock wall on LOS. Last year when we were on the IOS we got in a long line the kids had to be with us, we couldn't have a cocktail in our hands when we got to the checkin station, then the paperwork started and they had to see the kids, check their heights, and give wristbands.

What does the online waiver do for you other than having not to fill out the paperwork on ship? Can the kids just show up, give the cruise staff their sea pass card and they are good to go?

    Thank you,

  4. So in the Roll Call board for all the RC Meet n Mingle Roll Calls there is this heading:

Info about those repetitive posts on your Roll Call

    With in that area is this wording;

Scroll a bit and look at the right column, under "Who's Sailing". You'll see member avatars displayed there, and (if you are logged in) you'll see a button that says "I'm Sailing".

My question is: How do you get the "Who's Sailing" box to appear in your roll call?

    Thank you,

  5. I don't see what the big hype is about lobster on cruise ships. We live in New England and the lobsters are much better if you buy and cook your own or even in restaurants. Our son lives in Florida and The lobsters he gets are better than you get on the ship.

On our last cruise I had the lobster and the beef- the beef was better. Next time maybe I will get 2 orders of beef. ;)

I live in South Dakota we don't exactly have ocean front here, so getting any decent quality of seafood is a bonus. Now BEEF we have lots of beef. :D

  6. Love this comment.

We have sailed at Christmas and New year . The ship will still have the decorated tree up until after the New year cruise is finished. On Indie it is situated on the Royal Promenade. The other decorations gradually disappear over the cruise once the Christmas eve and Christmas day festivities are over.

The video and the wording makes it sound like the whole month of December there will be the holiday festivities. It seemed to ma a bit weird to have Santa out after Christmas, but some of the other stuff would still be fitting as it is still the Christmas season through New Years in my opinion anyways.

  7. What is/are the preferred Owners Suites on the Liberty. I understand there may be a noise issue in some of the Suites. My parents will be going for their 50th wedding anniversary and dad wants to spoil mom. I just don't want it ruined by excessive noise. He is considering Cabin 1620.

    Please give reason why

    Thank for your help,

  8. and all the extra fee restaurants. I guess I should have done much more research before I booked....lesson learned :)

Disney is not void of pay extra restaurants. Remy and Palo on Disney is pay extra. Some of your rationale I don't get, I get the impression you were not happy with family picking RCI so you found every and any possible reason to convince them to switch. RCI never stood a chance and would have never met your expectations. Enjoy your Disney cruise they are wonderful for kids and kids at heart no doubt. I just cant justify the extra $$$ they command.

  9. I would assume that you can - our grandchildren went for a short time while we shopped - however they were registered with AO and had the AO wrist bands and paperwork filled out on board.

We plan on registering her. I hope this is true it will make life so much easier and happier for all of us.

  10. I don't know if the waterslide is near the zip line. I don't think so.

An adult may have to skip the zip line to stay with her.

This is what I was planning to do, I just was wondering what other options there is. If the waterslide was by the Zipline, 2 of us could zip down while the other 2 waited with 9 year old. The 9 yo could then slide down the waterslide before the other 2 zip lined. If that makes sense.

But (just my opinion) I would not leave a 9 year old to ride the jeep back down alone and I would not leave her on the beach or waterslide alone.

The only reason I would consider the Jeep back down is because this is a Royal owned/rented site.

Thanx for the replies, looks like we will be splitting up or an adult will be skipping the Zipline. Either way, we are on vacation and kind of hard to ruin that. :D
