Wow, is the water really that blue here? I thought it was only like that in the Caribbean and Bermuda.

Lake Michigan really is that color during the summer. It feels like Key West water in the Midwest. The color of the water changes depending upon the weather and season. It becomes a ugly grey during storms and late fall through winter. It can also be a pretty light blue. One of the reasons I like living near Chicago. :)

I know I am early looking for info. My cruise is almost 2 years away. But I am a planner and love to get ideas.

My TA sends an invoice after every payment. Plus I see the charge from the cruise line on my card.

Single digit dance! 9 days until I am in warm, snow free Miami :D
-
I would definitely buy GS cookies too. :D

11 days until the Epic and no snow in sight :D

Very informative review on the Epic, thank you. :)

Forty three days until I arrive in Miami for pre-cruise warm up. ;)

If I had to sail with either of my parents, I would prefer a studio. I may be in my 30s but I still could not share a room. Two studios sound like the best option.

55 days I think :D

I still have no clue what photo is upsetting some people. The nerve of people to steal your door ornament and use it for theirs. Someone stole the beads from my door in Feb. on the Jewel. Took it on the last night. Oh well, my best friend and I got a lot more from the parades afterwards. :D I love the pics of Blue Kay. You did not help my craving for a warm place. Blue Kay looks much better than Maya Chan for the room and clarity of water. Definite hidden treasure, well not for much longer though.

I am considering booking a flight out of PBI/West Palm beach airport to return back to Chicago. I will be returning to Miami on Feb. 22nd on NCL Epic. I have been looking at flights out of MIA and FLL for months. If I lived closer I would drive. Prices have been high and I could drive home for the cost of a flight. Is it worth it to fly out of PBI?

I cruise for various reasons. I normally cruise in Feb. It is a week to get away from winter, celebrate my birthday, get away from everyone, and slow season for work. Did I mention getting away from cold, snow filled nightmare? :p

As far as tipping, I tipped at the end of each cruise. :)

I think his name was Theodore on the Jewel back in Feb. I tried to sneak him into my checked luggage. :p

I think I will be stuck taking a cruise ship excursion. Not having luck finding a tour company that will deal with a solo cruiser. :(
-
I did email him and asked if he would include a solo cruiser on his tours. I have not heard back from him. I sent my email over 2 weeks ago. So far, I'm not having luck with finding something for Jamaica. :(

I have better luck with butlers than the concierge. My best friend and I sailed on the Jewel in mid Feb. I think we had Theodore. He was the best. My best friend always felt guilty asking for anything. It was her first cruise and first time having people help her. I love NCL for their suite perks. I am an aft balcony lover. Although I still feel weird having someone carry my backpack. :o I will miss the suite perks on the Epic next Feb. I am trying a studio.

I read through all 19 pages of this thread last night and today. :o Definitely an interesting mix of one post review members and more experienced members. It seems like he caters to families and groups. I will be traveling by myself as usual. Plus I see links for two different email addresses and two different websites. I just wonder if I should even bother contacting him. I like the variety he offers. I have excursions planned for Cozumel and Cayman Islands already.

I think so. Might have better luck emailing them and asking.

Cold front came through and made snorkeling along the reef impossible. They had free wifi, good beer, cabanas, great service. My best friend went kayaking. I had a strained leg muscle from climbing Mayan ruins in Belize. The staff made a birthday cake for me. We did miss the initial pick up. But cab took us out there and they took care of the fares. Lunch was good and small buffet style. It was definitely not crowded. Plenty of people but not packed like sardines. There is development around them. I enjoyed the place.
Sharks
in Norwegian Cruise Line

It sounds like you are looking at Eastern Caribbean Cruise. My friend and I swam with sharks at a rescue center on Roatan. It was on an island that's called Maya Key. I don't know if it has changed since 2014.
