  1. Just remember a drink like the Bushwacker has six different types/shots of alcohol in them. They may not come in under the $11 limit. Then again, they might. As I said, take one of the bartender links on your cell phone/ipad and show them what you want. Almost all of the "old" NCL drinks are all just variations/same as, other standard drinks.

Bushwacker was available and was under the $11 limit. No problem

  2. I just returned from the EPic ON 3/22. Since our trip last year many improvements have been made with IConcierge. It worked much better.

HInt....When a message says sent, it means it was sent but the other phone has not received it. When it says delivered the other phone has received it.

  3. Just off Epic and for the first time I wore shorts to dinner twice. Both nights in Taste. Last year my boys 16 and 14 were sent out of Manhattans because of nice dress shorts, yet girls were aloud with shorts. This year I saw many going into Manhattans in shorts.

Dress code is free style just like the cruise. They suggest resort causal. From my two experiences on the Epic very few people dress up up. I think this changes with the time of year (we sailed spring break the last two years).

    Do what makes you comfortable.

  4. This place is fabulous! It is beautiful and off the beaten path. It is not touristy like Duns River Falls. You will not get beat to death by vendors. We love the place.

If you are asking about the walking/climbing because you are worried about it, let me tell you our experience. My husband has MS. He is able to do most anything we do. He has trouble with his left leg lifting it up. When he walks he swings it around a bit. Most people would not even notice unless they know him. He walks the stairs at home and at work daily. His trouble is with uneven ground. We called and spoke to Peat Taylor who we have used 7 times while in Jamica. He thought my husband would be fine.

When we got there, we looked and he tried. But he just couldn't do it safely. The walking climbing is over uneven ground. The "stairs" are basically cut out levels of the ground. They are not wooded or concrete. There are no railings to hold on to.

Please do not take this as we were upset. We new going that it would be hard and maybe not possible for my husband. These are things we are learning to deal with because this part of his MS is new. My boys and I climbed and jumped off at every level. I am over weight and out of shape. I was not easy but I was able to do it with out much help from the guides.

On a positive not for my husband, he did enjoy the view and was able to watch us. When we got to the bottom he climbed in and swam with us for a little while. This was the first time he was not able to join us on something and I was so proud of how he handled it. I think I would have gone and cried.

  5. So many things could have happened and could have been done differently.

Let me tell you about my experience a few weeks ago.....

I booked the Epic for March 15th in Febuary. I paid through an large online travel agent because they had a group price that was $800 difference between NCL and them. Yes....this is true. I am loyal to my NCL personel cruise consultant but went to this site because I just didn't have the money without using a creit card and I did not want to have a bill. So I started looking at other lines through that site.

Anyway....We booked the Epic, I charged it to my NCL Master Card (for the points then plan to pay off a few days later). I recieved my confirmation from the TA and my booking number from NCL. I logged on to my NCL account to see if my room was assigned and it was. A week later I went to pay off the credit card and there was no charge from the TA. I figured it was just a timing thing and went back on the NCL account to make sure everything was fine and began the online check in. Everything was fine. Two days later went back to master card to pay and still no charge. It is now about 9 days since I booked. I call the TA to make sure everything is ok. She says yes no problem. I asked her to check the payment becuase my credit card has a zero balance. She calls NCL and sure enough....the card was declined but no one ever notified us or the TA. When the TA asked about our booking she was told it was canceled but I had already done online check in so I knew it had not been. Long story short....NCL told her the charge was approved while their system was down and because a weekend was involved there was a delay getting all the information out to the TA and Myself. I was lucky I caught it because I could have ended up in this situation.

My point is....The OP could have been caught it this situation because it was only happened a few weeks ago and with their sailing just a few days later they had the unfortunate ordeal of having this come to light at the port.

I am not saying NCL handled their situation at the port the right way, just merely pointing out that NCL did have issues with credit card payment processing a few weeks ago.

FYI....my card was declined because the cost of the cruise was $36 more than my credit card limit, which I did not realize when I paid. One more thing to clarify...yes I said I did not want to put money on my credit card. You can't pay by check or cash so I put in on my credit card for the points then pay it off right away.

  6. We felt the same way but we are not big comedian fans on shops. We always pop in to see the comedians or second city but never really feel they are worth being headliners for entertainment on a ship. We love the ships where everyone goes to the big theater every night for the "show". With that said we like so much more about the Epic we are going our second time in two weeks.

Now for second city....the improve show was our favorite of their acts. The adult only shows seemed like they were trying to add in sex jokes. They just were not natural. I though I would enjoy the adult show more but did not. Remember, they change entertainers often and audience participation effects the show.

  7. Did you discuss it with them during the week?

You may not get a response this was an old thread from a year ago.

I researched it because I wanted to know if the app was any better. I can tell you from my experience, i spoke to NCL early in the week and no one knew about the app. I was told to put it on the comment card. It was really hit or miss. You both had to be where wifi was.

  8. Why would you need the app in your stateroom? You had a phone in there didn't you?

Sorry so long to reply. I am headed out on the epic again and was checking to see if there where updates to this working better.

Yes there is a phone in the room....but this does no good if I am calling my kids at the pool or entourage. The whole idea is to keep intouch. I have older teens who don't have to be under my supervision every minute of the day. If they are in their room, which teens never are, I would call their room or stick my head in next door.

  9. We were on the Epic last year and paid for the app on all of our phones. Here is the deal....it only worked in some areas. The wifi did not have good service throughout the ship. It was fantastic when it worked to keep up with the kids.

Does anyone know if the wifi was improved on the EPIC. We leave in 2 weeks and would purchase again if the wifi was better.

  10. When you board the Sky you will be directed inside. Take a right and the luggage drop off will be just past the photo area on the left. It is a bar area. I can't remeber the name of it but it is dark wood.

Just a note, if you keep walking just a litrtle farther, you will find the table for the UBP, wine packages, and speciality resteraunt reservations.

  11. I am just of the Epic. Let me say that the pay feature, texting and phone calls, suck. We hardly could get texts and calls through. Once in the cabin, forget using it. I even asked for a refund and was told they knew nothing about the app and that I could put it on a comment card.

Now the good, the free features worked well. They were really nice to pull up all the informations as needed. Yes, you can book entertainment on the app. Dinner, I could not book on the app.

  12. We are off the Epic today. We were in 10101 and 10102. They are on a hall that runs between the two sides and VERY close to the elevator. The hall was very quiet. It was also very convent to BLISS, Epic theater, headliners, cirque, and buffet. Downside.....the resteraunts where on close to the aft elevator. I would rebook these rooms again with no problem.

  13. This drop was twice as much as the first!! Still 90 days out, wonder what else might happen

OP stated they were still 90 days out. That's why the refund. OP made finial payment before final payment was due.

  14. I'm surprised at this. I thought that if someone missed the ship the security team fm the ship would check the safe for the passports, since that is where we are advised to put them, and leave them with the port agent.

How do they know you are going to miss the ship? Not everyone notifies the ship the are going to kiss up. I have never seen this happen. Is the a FACT? I have pushed the time where we got back just as they were raising the gangway. No one had retrieved my passport. The gangway was pulled up as we walk across. I
