I saw them remove 3 gentlemen from the dining room the final night on board, all three were wearing shorts, sandals and one a ball cap. From what I saw, nice jeans, slacks, and any shirt with collar will do for the men, with a form of non-athletic footwear, I wore boat shoes and canvas shoes and never felt out of place.
Most of the ladies wore dresses, or pants with a dressy top.

We sailed with just under 300 last week. And that included two very large groups who were sailing together, one was close to 80 people. This was the 11 night Cook and Society Island.
I totally agree with taking a longer option, the flights over are brutal from the east coast of the US. We had a total of 14 nights and it was perfect.

Fresh off of her and I would say she's in FINE shape. Super clean, not a lot of things that need attention. And if they did a simple letting someone know got it taken care of quickly.

I highly suggest coming in at least a day or two early. But yes, there are day rooms available. We stayed at the Pearl for our day room on the day of disembarkation, it was nice, good wifi, nice beds and showers.

Thank you so much for this review. My wife and I just booked for 2018 for this 11 nigh trip. We sat down and read through each post. Great review!!

Well thanks to all of your help, we booked the November 17, 2018 11-night Society and Cook Island cruise this evening and went with a Cat E. We will be doing 2 nights pre-cruise in an overwater in Moorea for the cost of the difference!
Now to wait the almost 800 days!!! Time to do some excursion research!

Well apparently my old man brain kicked in. Thought we were doing the 10 night and now she tells me she wants the 11 night that leaves Nov 17th and goes to the Cook Islands.
Any feedback on going there?

Great advice and thank you all. We are definitely not in the money saving mode as I've put enough aside over the years to make sure we are comfortable. But I'm thinking it's not worth the almost $3k to get the butler service cabins.
We are getting ready to book this trip and have had some nerves about spending the money and not knowing what kind of time we will have. We aren't hard to please but have read (with a grain of salt) some negative reviews lately.
We've been looking forward to this for about 7 or 8 years now! So glad we can finally put it on the calendar!

Thanks for the help. This is a big deal kind of trip for us, one we have been saving for a long time. And we will be celebrating turning 40! Not sure we will ever make it back to these islands again so it's a once in a lifetime kind of thing.
Normally on other cruise lines we get a balcony because we love spending time out there and being away from the crowds. But this is where we lack knowledge on how the vibe and flow is on the PG. is it more like a community having this few people on board? Do people spend a lot of time in the common areas and socializing? If so, we enjoy that aspect of cruising, but still enjoy the peace and quiet of our balcony as well.

So we are in the final planning stages for our long awaited PG cruise. We are looking at the Nov. 28th, 2016 sailing, and are trying to decide on either a B or C cabin. I understand that you get a slightly larger room and balcony with the B and you get Butler service. That's my main question, is the Butler service worth the money? Does it really get you that much better service? We are loyalty members on other lines and do appreciate some of the perks that come with it such as priority embark/debark and private areas, but I'm not sure any of these really apply to a ship like the PG as it seems like everybody is treated like a VIP.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Wow. Not what we expected to see. We have 11730 booked for next November, but may reconsider. These rooms were billed as being MUCH larger than a standard GS, but people in these rooms say not so much? While I think we would LOVE the aft balcony the lack of shaded seating concerns me a bit. We will hold on for now, but a LS might be in our future.

Hi Shevais!
Congrats on the aft GS! We booked 11330 for 11/29. Please post photos of your suite if possible! I know you are excited!
Thanks, Lee
You'll be on her first! We are on Indy this fall. Won't be on Oasis until November of 2015! Cheers!

Outstanding pictures! I cannot wait to see some of the aft GS as we have booked 11730 for next year. I love the improvement of the Diamond Lounge and cannot wait to eat at the Coastal Kitchen!

Many people have posted on here that they have already booked them.
We have booked 11730 for our Nov. '15 cruise. Called and switched our hump GS to this cabin last week.
-
This may have already been asked but did most who received the upgrade email book directly with RCCL
We always book direct through RCCL. And received an upgrade on our last cruise. From the sounds of it they look at the open cabins, and then work their way down the list of passengers from the highest rank in C&A. But that's "unofficial"

The upgrade we received was after a pretty good week of calling and asking if there were any upgrades available. Love C&A reps!
-
We had a complimentary upgrade from a JS to a GS on the Enchantment this past May. Received the upgrade a day or two before embarkation!
-
So glad we saw this today! We called and moved our midship GS on deck 12 to the Aft on 11, 11730 here we come! This is just about the ONLY thing we wished the Oasis had. Cannot wait for dinner on the balcony while watching the shows!
-
We just switched our Grand Suite to 11730 for our Nov '15 cruise. I was surprised to see them still available, and as a GS, not an Aqua Theater. We LOVE aft cabins, and that was the only thing we didn't like about the Oasis. Now, it's perfect!

It's seems to have nothing to do with the Indy. But I completed it and it was about the importance of certain perks versus others. Took 10 minutes tops.
Help in choosing cruise line

We had this same debate and are fresh of the PG. We originally booked on Deck 4, and were happy-ish with that choice, but the price to go to Level D was not worth it. Now a couple weeks out we called and got an upgrade to Deck 8 for less than the upgrade to a Level D cabin. We jumped on it, never looked back. Outstanding location, butler service was incredible, the mini-bar and snacks, and whatever you wanted, in your room, for you. Afternoon canapés, and that wonderful verandah... oh how we loved it, we spent a lot of time there, many times walking to the pool bar, grabbing a drink and right back to our balcony. We love people, and are social, but we also love quiet alone time, and the balcony was perfect for it. Worth the initial cost, no, a discounted upgrade, absolutely. We looked at every category of stateroom the day we docked and the crew was cleaning the rooms, and we decided we could probably do a cabin on deck 4 all things considered.
