  1. We’re finally doing a full transit of the Panama Canal on the Marina, and were wondering about what is offered in the way of lectures, history, perhaps commentary on the transit day, etc?  And yes, we will read “The Path Between the Seas” prior to our trip 😃!

Stay in the Miraflores area.  It is safer at night than the historic area.  I think there is a Marriott in Miraflores.

Thanks!  And interesting spots close enough to walk to (some mobility issues)?

  3. Hi, we’ll be disembarking in Lima (Callao) and spending one or two nights in the city before heading to the airport.  I’m looking at the Miraflores area, or the historic centre, or Barranco.  Any advice as to which would be the best area to choose - some interesting sights within a close and easy walk, not terribly far from either the cruise port or airport( if that’s a possibility?).  Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated!

  4. Hi, looking at the7th floor deck plan of the Vista, specifically the PHs between 7108 and 7125 (excluding 7124 and 7127). Are those balconies the narrower and deeper ones, as opposed to the PH balconies on decks 10 and 11? Also, do the lifeboats/tenders below, on deck 6, obstruct the view downward in any way, or are they recessed?

    Thanks!

  5. With apologies if this question has already been asked and answered, but we are looking at booking a PH1 or 2 on the Nautica and notice on the deck plan that they are directly under the pool area, albeit to the side where the lounge chairs would be set out.  Does anyone have any experience with noise (i.e. scraping chairs, etc.) in these staterooms?

This is how it worked for Regent, and we suspect O is the same:  In multiple experiences in Miami with Luggage Forward. we tagged our luggage (as everyone does with the colored O luggage tags) and left it outside our door the evening before departure.  We next saw it when we disembarked and went to the luggage storage area on shore.  We took the bags through customs right at that area and proceeded outside the building.  A Luggage Forward representative was just outside holding a sign that said "Luggage Forward".  We handed the person the bags and left.  That's it.  Our luggage showed up at our home a few days later.

Thanks so much - this is very helpful!

  7. Hi,

I know many folks are using this, or a similar service and are pleased with the ease and convenience of not having to manage luggage.  My question is - how straightforward is the pickup upon disembarkation in Miami?  I know we have to take our own luggage off the ship, but is the Luggage Forward pickup spot easy to find?  Any experiences to relate in this regard?

    Thanks!
