We had to pay $399 for our extra day in Honolulu. We actually leave Boston for Honolulu tomorrow morning. I feel the extra day will be worth it. Our flight from Hawaii is at 9:50 PM next day. So we got really two full extra days with that one overnight. All through NCL BOGO. I have no problem with that. It is what it is.

I wonder if those were pre booked by travel agency. NCL's allotment may be full... Any way, I am booked for the 11 day Oahu explorer package, leaving tomorrow morning. Cruise portion April 9th. Nothing out of ordinary for me so far.

I am on the April 9th sailing, also doing the 3 night pre trip... Leaving tomorrow. No word of it not happening.
Got an Email stating that far fewer guests my trip. Thus La Cucina and the Moderno restaurants will be out of service. Perhaps another too.

Citizens M, next door to Boston Garden. A fun boutique hotel. We stayed there a few times. Never been disappointed.

Thank you

I noticed the POA has a Hawaiian beverage package. Does not include alcohol, is that correct? We don't cruise to be drunk, but do enjoy the adult beverages. Is the alcohol added to the account and paid at cruise end. Also the gratuity paid for the Hawaiian package won't cover the alcohol beverages. Correct?

Looking all over.... I see the POA has a spa. I don't see a thermal spa. So no spa passes. Is this correct? Not a make or break, but we have always paid for a spa pass when ever available. Add to the enjoyment and being away from crowds.

The wife and I are booked for the April 9th cruise. Plus the 4 Day 3 Night add on. Cost a lot, but we don't need to make big decisions on where to go, because tours ate scheduled for us. I believe all food and drink is on us, nothing complementary. That may be the biggest expense. Will find out.

I have been booked for the October 16th cruise now for some time. Will it be considered the maiden voyage? A lot of kinks may need be worked out, is it worth still going?
I wonder if any thing special will go on during that first cruise with paying guests.

Virgin just posted typical drink prices in their website...
$5-6 Beers (Heineken, Corona, Narragansett, Amstel Light, Kalik)
$9 Cocktails (Tito’s, Tanqueray, Jack Daniels)
42% of wines are under $10 a glass
All tips are included.
Very reasonable and certainly less than land-based hotel or NYC prices.
I will most definitely make out on the plus side here. Thanks. I am a Narragansett guy my self. The beer from the movie "Jaws". Maybe I may drink 6 beers on a day or two.

Save up a $1000 prior to cruise, put it in the safe and drink like a fish till the end of the 4 or 5 day cruise. The $1000 should cover most of the tab. There you go... your own personal drink package. I personally don't want or need other "Sailors" supplementing my drinking. That is really what the drink packages are. I pay more for the cruise to have all inclusive drinks. I don't drink alcohol just for the heck of it to make the package work out for me. I normally get 5 beers perday at $8 average. $40 a day for me. Lots less than an average drink package. 10 years ago the idea of all inclusive drink packages were just catching on. Most folks I know like the idea of the drink packages but also realize they usually never make out on the plus side due to it. Just a convenience.

I love a nice pool. But ever since I started cruising back 15 or so years ago, the only time I really hung out and lounged by the pool was when I didn't book a room with a balcony. That is not very often. I prefer the wrap around promenade decks and just relaxing there. Lot quieter. But for excitement the pool deck definitely.
That said... I rarely have used cruise ship pools out side the Spa areas. ie Norweigian Dawn's spa pool. Large.

I am booked for the October 16th, 2020 cruise out of Miami. I don't see any roll calls for the Scarlet Lady. Am I just blind or are they not doing them?

Hi all,
I am booked on the October 16th, 2020 cruise along with another couple. This looks to be a lot of fun.
For the past 12 years or so every cruise I have taken I have also purchased a Spa Package. It admits me to the saunas, steam rooms, thyloplasy pools, heated loungers and such. Is this something this ship will offer? and wondering the price.
There is so much that is still to be seen about this cruiseline and there ship(s). It is exciting and I hope it lives up to the hype.

Wife and I booked a Balcony Room for a 5 day cruise in October. With a night prior and night after at Kimpton Epic downtown Miami, Two round trip from Boston airline tickets, and Bus tickets from Portsmouth, NH to Boston, the entire fare for us not including incidentals and eating in Miami. Less than $3,300 total. We would pay similar to that on NCL, Carnival or any other line. We wont be required to pay more in gratuities (we will tip extra as services are rendered), no paying for soda packages.

Thank you much for the quick reply.

I have not sailed suites on the Gem. I have on the Dawn and Breakaway.
Do non Haven suite guests on Gem have a "special place" for breakfast. On the Dawn it was "Cagneys". Breakaway was "Haven" for Haven suite guests.
Thanks for any help.
Jon,

Thanks for the replies. I figured as much, but I had to look into it just in case... Don't know what I would do different, I would just not have been surprised.

Hi all,
I will be sailing on the GEM to Bermuda in two weeks. I have heard through 3rd person that the GEM had a lot of construction going on and a lot of public areas un-accesible.
This was from about 3 weeks ago. I wonder if it was just something minor and the guy was blowing things out of proportion or it was really a big inconvenience?
I am still two weeks out so I am hoping what ever work was going on will be completed when I get on board. Hopefully the Spinnaker, Great Outdoors or the Pool deck isn't out of order. No one allowed on the Promenade deck or something crazy like that.
Thanks for any help.

He introduced him self as Dan Dan from Philly (in American accent), then in (Filipino accent said) "No silly Dan Dan from the Philapenes, not Phillidelphia!" It was hilarious, you had to be there. Him talking in a American accent is as funny as Daman Wayans (Homey the Clown and now Murtaugh in Leathal Weapon) talking in a geeky white guy accent. Some folks just don't get the humor I guess.
Convince us to try NCL again

If you have Bermuda in mind... Try NCL, longer stay vs. The other mainstream lines. I personally have never been disappointed on NCL. Least favorite. And that too was great, was Celebrity on the Solstice.
