Thank you. I called Chase for a specific question concerning pre-existing conditions ( I am being treated for lung cancer). They confirmed that as long as I have a doctor's statement, I would be covered. Thank you again. You have saved my $700.

Would like to know where you got that from. It does not say that on any of the insurance paperwork I have gotten from them. Also was not an issue when we made a claim a few years ago.

    1. Vacation protection insurance: You may have the option to purchase vacation protection insurance offered through the cruise or tour Supplier. If you decline any such vacation protection insurance, you will assume all risk of recovery of your costs and Chase Travel will be unable to assist you. Refunds and coverage are subject to the policies of the individual travel insurance provider.  This is in the travel disclosures for CRUISE AND TOURS SUPPLIER TERMS.

There are a couple of credit cards with excellent coverage including Chase Sapphire.  Does have a fee after the first year.  We found its coverage and claim procedure to be fast and fair.  Even has primary coverage on rental cars.

With Chase Sapphire Preferred, if the cruise line offers travel insurance, then the Chase Sapphire card cannot be used for insurance.

  4. For my 16 day Hawaii cruise, I have a mini-suite and purchased the Plus Package. If I end up in a "full suite" do I still need the Plus Package? In other words, are any of the Plus Package perks already included with a Suite? Thanks.

  5. Thank you to everyone that responded. Just thought I would update you. The Carnival passenger that was banned for life has had the ban reversed. They also received a partial refund for the cruise fare and all of the port charges.

  6. I know I am going to get a lot of negative comments, but, I have a question. I am a lung cancer patient. Had a lobectomy and chemo. I have a problem with nausea and motion sickness. In the past I could take dramamine-ish type medication. It is no longer effective. I have been taking low mq marijuna gummies to help. Has anyone had an issue boarding a ship in San Francisco or Vancouver with gummies? Thank you for understanding.

  7. Why not just book the cheaper excursion directly? Then you have cash in your pocket rather than OBC which can only be used on pricey cruise expenses.

I used it for a helicopter excursion. When I booked it I didn't know about the cheaper option. Then I saw it and submitted it and received over $130 obc. I will use that to pay the gratuities bill. If Carnival didn't also the price guarantee I would have cancelled with Carnival and purchased through the other vendor.
