  1. Does anyone know of sites to get things personalized for cabin doors?  Another cruise line has a forum with designers will personalize things and all you need to do is print them out.  Just not sure where to find for Carnival?

    Ship - Breeze

    Deck - Lido

    Stateroom # - 10290

    Stateroom Category –

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –  Very quiet, especially considering it was first cabin by Blue Iguana Cantina.  But absolutely no noise at all from that side.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -  No, but the balcony could be opened to connect to 10286

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Looking forward from the balcony the lido deck jutted out so you couldn't look straight up the side of the ship.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? -  Not at all

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

    Any other comments? -

This was from 2016 Vista inaugural and 2018 Horizon transatlantic. I think they use a modified version of Horizon on other ships.

The first one shown here from the Vista is 2016 was the menu from Chef's Table last week on Breeze.

  4. Just off the Breeze yesterday and at dinner Friday night Schwartz (cruise director) came on very somberly to announce that we were at maximum speed back to Port Canaveral and would be arriving at 2am instead of 6am because a crew member needed "urgent medical attention."   My heart sank and I was literally nauseous just thinking of this.  We overheard a fellow passenger inquire as to the crew member's condition when we were debarking yesterday and the crew member answered, "we haven't heard yet so we're just hoping he's okay."  Would love to hear that this crew member got the attention he/she needed if anyone knows?

  5. I've found Carnival to be no more of a party ship than Disney or Royal Caribbean.  Seriously.  Now that said, I've only been on 7 day cruises over spring break or during the summer.  Never a shorter, less expensive cruise that is sometimes a bachelor or bachelorette party type of cruise.  But honestly, Fun Ship does not mean raucous party, it just means they try to keep it upbeat on deck, and offer lots of activities.  And yes, I was serious about Disney, I've seen those ships get just as crazy with adults while their kids are off with Mickey.  lol 😉

  6. We did self assist debarkation in NOLA last year and swore we'd do it from now on, so easy!  But how does it work in Port Canaveral for boarding?  How does security handle bringing all luggage on board ourselves?  Only a couple pieces, but still not sure how they work it.

  7. I have stayed at both and feel that Country Inn & Suites is more organized the morning you leave for the port.  Plus they were super amazing the one time our ship was delayed arriving so we were stuck at the hotel all day and couldn't even head to port until 7pm.  Radisson does have that resort feel but if you're just there for a bed and a shower my vote goes to CIS

  8. Accidentally posted this is wrong place, so trying again!  Using for the first time in a couple of weeks and I'm nervous.  Gets decent reviews but I booked this for three families to use because the price was so much less expensive than any place else around Port Canaveral.  We usually do a park and cruise out of Country Inn and Suites but this year are trying something different.  Also, we're booked for 10am shuttle and I'm just curious if these shuttles are on time, any "tips or tricks" I need to know?  There will be 10 of us in 3 cars using this and I don't want any surprises awaiting us.  Thank you so much!

The process you described is being used at Port Canaveral. We have already cruised from that port twice this year and have a cruise on Breeze in two weeks.  As long as you show up during your assigned check-in window, or have some kind of priority, the process will be fast.

Well it looks like we'll be on same cruise!  lol . Thank you for your help, now I'm even MORE excited, just knowing how simple it is to check in now.

  11. I haven't cruised out of Port Canaveral in a couple of years but last summer when we cruised Carnival out of New Orleans we were amazed at the simplicity of the check in and boarding at the NOLA port!  Not exaggerating probably 10 minutes from the time we got through security until we were on ship.  They used tablets for check in, including taking our photos at the same time, and away we went.  Just checking to see if Port Canaveral has updated to this super quick and simple check in?

  12. Having sailed 3 DCL, 2 RCI and heading into my 2nd Carnival in April, I can honestly say you won't miss a thing if you don't ever do Disney. Don't get me wrong, we LOVED DCL - twice on the Magic and once on the Dream, but there is nothing in the price that is justifiable for the difference. Is the intimacy of the characters everywhere nice? Sure is! Are the fireworks at sea incredible? You bet! Pirate Party? Out of this world! Themed dining? Wow! But the cleanliness of every ship I've sailed has been comparable, the service the same (maybe even better on RCI than on Disney), however I do give Disney the upper hand on food. Double the cost for an inside cabin on Disney versus a balcony on Carnival? No thanks! I'll take two Carnival cruises for the price of one Disney.

Do I regret spending the money on our 3 Disney cruises? Not at all. But they were our first cruises and we had to decide, do we love Disney Cruises or do we just love cruising? We decided it was the latter and can now afford to sail a bit more frequently because we realized there really is life after Disney.

Oh and one more thing. The pools on the newer Disney ships (Dream and Fantasy) are way more crowded and poorly planned than any of the other ships I've sailed. If that matters to you, look at RCI Freedom of the Seas or Carnival Valor. Only other ships I've sailed but both rock in the pool category.

  13. I love and respect your positive attitude! Yes, sometimes these things happens and how you react to it makes all the difference.

We didn't sail until 2am last spring from Port Canaveral because our ship was late arriving due to a medical emergency that turned them around back to Grand Turk the day before. Nobody was really upset, our hotel stored our luggage and allowed us to stay on property even though we were out of our rooms. Everyone was very kind and took it in stride.... until. The very next day I saw so many people at guest services demanding compensation. We had already been given $25/stateroom OBC. They literally turned the Valor in 3 1/2 hours from when the ship arrived and guests began debarking until they started embarkation and our cabin was ready immediately. Not too shabby. The crew is who I felt sorry for! they'd been entertaining guests on a day that they should've been turning the ship and they still got everything clean in such a short time. But sadly I overhead so many people canceling gratuities because of the ship arriving late. It's terrible to punish the hard workers for something out of everyone's control.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise and keep the updates coming!

  14. This might sound really weird but we're booked in 10287 which looks like it's literally just one cabin away from pool deck on deck 10. My question is, do you have to walk toward front of ship then back down hallway past the atrium to get to lido deck, or can you go out your cabin and pass the cabin next door and then come out through the doors to pool deck. Does that make sense? lol So are we literally one cabin away from entrance to pool deck or do we need to backtrack to get there.

  15. We just booked our cruise for next April and FTTF was not available. I called and was told that they are not available "yet?" I'm a TA and it's for my own personal cruise so I've tried through the guest website and the TA site and called CArnival and they told me to check back as it's not open yet. So it doesn't sound like it's sold out?

This is my first Carnival cruise and I'm very nervous about a few things so I want to definitely get the FTTF! Help!

  16. Well well well...... I may just come back and finish!

The reason I didn't come back was that we had a HORRIBLE end to our cruise. FIL ended up in the ship's hospital and was taken off the ship by ambulance when we got back to PC. So it was definitely not a great ending.

Then we were back on FOTS April 2014 and we're now booked for our first Carnival cruise next April! So I have some catching up to do! Bear with me and I'll be back! :D
