  1. Everyone seems to have their favorite cabins--ours happens to be GS 1268 on FOS and have it again this Nov. for the 5th year in a row. It feels like we are coming home every time we board and get to our cabin. We like the balcony with shade and sun!

Just need to do a little homework and study deck plans, visit CC often, and/or find web sites that offer more details. If you have a TA they should also know the deck plans of each ship.

  2. We have been on three Halloween cruises and will be on another one this year. So have had two NCL and Two RCL. The one NCL Sun was by far the best. We had a huge party in our suite 18 to 20 people. Our Butler brought in all kinds of goodies from peel and eat shrimp, veggies, chips & dip and we had ordered a bar set-up so we had mixer brought in so I could mix up my witches brew. The steward rearranged furniture and brought in more for the balcony.

After we had our appetizers we all went to the MDR for dinner ---ALL in costume. We could hardly get to our table for all the picture taking going on. We have won three times with our costumes and sorry to say do not want to post pix as we still take them with us, but will say we are known as Ghosts of the Titanic!

After dinner we went to the Dazzels lounge for the costume contest--won a lot of free stuff--key fob, beach bag, champagne, decks of cards, casino bucks, hats, and shirts.

The biggest costume party was last year on our biker rally cruise on FOS where there where over 500 dressed in costumes. The party was held by the pool. Doing this one again Oct.30th to Nov.6th. FOS again. Great time. I love Halloween cruises!!

  3. We usally book what we want without thinking of upsells or upgrades. We did get an UPGRADE on our Alaska cruise to an Owners Suite!! That was also the time we had dinner with the Captain and had an exclusive party with him---only 6 other couples. Don't know why, but since than have had other chances to dine with the captain, but don't always accept.

Did one other upsell when prices drastically changed, otherwise like I said--we book what we want at the time--maybe a couple months or a couple of years out--just watch the prices and make our PCC aware that we are willing to upsell if price is right!!

  4. We always bk our air with FF miles using what ever airlines gives us the best deal plus the schedule WE want--never fails something always gets changed before we actually fly out. This yr our flight got changed from arriving in Orlando at 1:30 PM to 4:30PM:eek:----this is why we always fly in at least one day early. Who knows by Oct.28th it may get changed back and forth many times over!!

When you deal with small airports that only has 3 or 4 different carriers we adjust:rolleyes:. Thank heavens once we get to main hub--Minneapolis or Denver things go just fine!

  5. So glad you mentioned that they are not included in the tip pool...I did not know that.

How many Butlers are there?....or is there just one for the entire 14th floor?

Is there anything else we should know about or what we should expect??

Last time we where on the Jewel our Butler was the same one our friends had----we where in an AB and they in the Garden Villa. Just don't know how many Butlers each ship has.

We usally have the weeks menus brought to our suite the first night so we could decide on what nights we wanted to eat in the MDR and what nights to do SR (like Cagneys or Teppanyaki) or eat in! Don't forget you can have an awesome breakfast in Cagneys.

We got invited to a private captains party that was held on the Courtyard Villa Deck--that was alot of fun with plenty of free flowing drinks!;)

Can't think of anything else right now----we did do a bar set-up and pre-booked spa appts. Also bought hubby casino credit ahead of time.

    Have a wonderful cruise!!

  6. We love to entertain while on a cruise so always have the Butler plan a party for us in our suite. Three times we have been crusing over Halloween--so have alot of fun planning for those parties. Had extra chairs brought in, more patio furniture and lots & lots of food. Also we order in room service from all the different dining venues. Chilled soups are my favorite and I will even have some for breakfast!!;)

Our Concierge is a god send when it comes to all the reservations--be it dinner, spa, special seating at shows, excursions ect. We use both services a lot and tip them accordingly--as they are not in the tip pool!!

  7. I hate to say that I have not worked out this week. I was not on the diet for Monday and Tuesday, due to Tuesday being my birthday. I started on the diet on Weds. And went down 2 lbs and then I fell at work on thursday.

I am on painkillers, muscle relaxants and Ibuprofen. I think it will be a while before I can work out again. I have only got to do Active by EA sports for wii once. ( I got that game for my birthday).

Sorry to hear about your accident---hope you mend fast! Happy belated birthday. Even moving just a little while your sitting can help you get back on track when your at 100% again. Good Luck, get well soon!:D

  8. Where is everbody??? It is SAT isn't it:confused: Had a good week was able to workout every day and do some walking. Down 1.3lbs---just a steady decline---yea. Come on I know you all have been working hard, lets see those results!!;)

  9. Congrats, Deb! You are an inspiration, for sure. :)

DDR is very intense. It's similar to the arcade game, except the mats are soft and flat instead of a raised platform, and offers a variety of skill levels and tunes. If you like to dance, then you should certainly check it out. You'll find plenty of reviews on amazon for the various styles.

    Laura,

Thanks for info on the DDR. I didn't work out today (always do the body test tho) but I did almost 4 hrs of painting my bathroom and that HAS to count as more than "normal" I'am so sore tonight--think it's from all the reaching, stretching, and squating. Tomorrow I will give it a second coat, but think I will do some yoga in the morn. Funny how a person can think they're in such good shape until they try something totally different!:o

  10. A very BIG day for me---100 days and 100 hours on the Wii.:D Not to mention meeting my goal!!! Now I've set another goal for a month out instead of two wks. Want to lose another 5lbs. than we'll see how things go from there.

Lady Jag---want more info about the Wii Dance-Dance Revolution. I love dancing and this sounds like something new that would help mix up my workouts!

GOOD JOB everyone, keep up the good work and let's all work for a healthier mind and body!!

  11. Hi Everyone!

I just got a Wii on sunday and have been sore ever since....

I can tell you I wasn't very happy when I originally made my Mii to look like I thought I looked and then it fattened my Mii right up.... Now THAT'S motivation!

I do find the Step is a tad easy, but I'm sure it will get harder as I unlock higher levels.

Funny, I hate to run, but the session on here keeps you interested. I like to follow the dog.

    Have fun!

You can do what I did and raise your Wii board--just place it on top of a couple big thick books or use a piece of plywood on top a couple of small bricks--- it makes the Step alot harder. Just watch out so it doesn't slip on you. I do the 30 minute free step and added weights to make it harder. After almost 100 days I figured out ways to keep it interesting and make my workouts a little more challenging.

I still hate the "tree and dance" yoga poses.

  12. down 2.2 pounds according to the wii and my scale. Hanging in there!

Good:D I have a week to meet my extended weight deadline. Usally do 2 wks at a time, but when I first started I put in a 2 month goal. Just about there, will have to work hard this next week! Gotta go do my Wii for the 92nd day!!:) WEW I'am tired HEEHEE

    Keep on workin at it!
