    Just got this email too. We have to wear a mask while in our state room? How are they going to enforce that? It’s gonna be a little tough to take a shower with a mask on.

    Tips not included in UBP?? NCL says otherwise

    On my last NCL cruise I was charged $1.39 for each drink. Apparently if it comes to over $11 when the tip is added, you pay the difference. The wine I was drinking was $10.50 per glass + 18%tip = $12.39. $1.39 over the allowed $11 per drink limit. I went to guest services to find out about the charges on my account and that's what I was told.

    I was on this same cruise with you. What I really liked: the ship was very clean and the staff really friendly. What I didn't like: I got a carton of skim milk off the buffet one evening and it was badly curdled although it was not close to being out of date. Also, the deck chairs around the waterworks area are very worn and look like they need to be replaced.

    OP - thanks for the great review and pictures! I'm headed out on her soon, for 1st solo cruise & 1st Carnival cruise - I'm an NCL girl but am branching out, one cruise line at a time :D:D:D

    I had this package in January - didn't overdo it, but mimosa at breakfast, couple of frozen drinks throughout the day, wine (by the glass) at dinner & martini night cap - sure adds up fast! Plus it was great to try different wines, mixed drinks, & martini's - sent a few back as yuck! Lol! Found a few wines/drinks I really liked that I wouldn't have otherwise tried...

    Recent widow, thinking about solo cruise

    I so want to do this. Widowed last year, am 76, though by no means old. I am just nervous about it. Been married for so many years, haven't had the chance to do anything on my own. I thought I was always an independent woman, maybe I'm not. I guess I have to start by booking something. Any encouragement will be much appreciated. Thanks.

     

    You are never too old!! I was widowed last year and have gone on 2 cruises with friends/family since. Looking at booking something else soon! Just wish the cruise lines were a little bit more understanding, costwise, for solo cruisers. Since I don't live too far from the ports, I'd cruise a lot more if I didn't have to pay almost double as a solo!

    Just got off the Sun - Ketel One was included and most martinis & frozen drinks, just ask your bartender - I was only told NO once on a special martini - they just used a different vodka and it was included. Was nice not to worry about the final bar bill. We're going on the Epic Saturday and just confirmed that they are offering this package on all ships now except PoA. They didn't push it on the Sun, we had to ask where to sign up - Atrium cafe. Didn't see any other advertisements for it and most other passengers we talked to didn't know anything about it. Good at all bars & restaurants, just not room service... I drank Prosecco Brut at $9 glass + a frozen drink or 2 so it was a good deal for me.
