  1. I have a suggestion that may help. When we did a Panama Canal cruise on NCL Pearl, we got up early in the morning the day of the transit and went to the Spinnaker Lounge (in the front of the ship) and had a bird's eye view of the transit. I also had a thermal spa pass and later I went to the Mandara Spa (also in the front of the ship) and sat on one of their loungers and had a great view of the transit. I looked at the Jewel deck plans and noticed they have a Spinnaker Lounge on Deck 13 and a Mandara Spa on Deck 12. Note: Mandara Spa passes must be purchased separately and are not included in the price of your cruise. Hope this helps.

  2. We're on the Prima to Bermuda for the May 2023 sailing. We love to sail on a new ship, plus their Mandara Spa looks awesome. We prefer a ship with the Mandara Spa. Joy doesn't have one. Love the layout of Prima. Can't wait to experience their theater and dining venues. Looking forward to Prima reviews.

  3. Where is a good place to stay pre-cruise out of New York City? We are from Pennsylvania and will be on I-80 (going east) that ends right before NYC. We booked a hotel in New Jersey off I-80, but there are mixed reviews for the hotel. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

  4. Definitely Cartagena! We did the Panama Canal partial transit on the Pearl and loved it! Tip: Buy a thermal spa pass. I did and during our Panama Canal transit, I went to the thermal spa and sat on one of their loungers during the entire transit. I had a bird's eye up close view of everything. I was the only one in the spa during the transit. Apparently, no one else thought to do this. BTW a thermal spa pass gives you access to their spa all week.

  5. I had a thermal spa pass on the Pearl when we did the Panama Canal partial transit. When doing the PC transit, I went to the thermal spa and sat on a lounger during the whole transit and had a ringside seat. No one else was in the spa. Apparently, no one else thought of this idea.🙂

  6. Tours are offered in the dock area. They are much cheaper than booking them through the ship. There's a nice mini-golf course that is very challenging near the dock area, but I can't remember the name of it. Lots of fun! Nice shopping and a mini-mall also in the dock area.
