Well I am so glad CC figured out their problem or whatever they were doing. I missed your review and since I will be on the Indy in a couple weeks I was hoping to pass the time by reading your posts. Thanks again. We have so much snow here it makes me feel warm just seeing your pictures of people in the pool and such.

Niksmom, Thanks so much for taking time to do this. Love the pictures so far. We are also from the midwest (Milwaukee area) and are in the same boat with the weather. You did not miss anything today. Woke up to -8. Enjoy the warmth. Thanks again looking forward to more info.

Allure is my favorite. It is so big but I never felt crowded. I do not have one that I do not like.

We did the Blue Lagoon last year and loved it. I think it is one of my favorites. They give you life jackets and wet suits to wear which in my opinion was much needed. The water is really quite cold and you do not want to pay all that money and not want to get in. We had a younger (20's) woman in our group that was so cold she did not want to get in. You get to touch them and kiss them and "dance" with them. The last thing is they have 2 and push you in the water on the bottoms of your feet. It was a blast. I am sure your daughter would love it.

That really depends on whether you want to go Sat to Sat or Sun to Sun. Or you may prefer the Eastern or Western. Depending on when you want to go if you only have 1 week to choose from then it might come down to Eastern or Western because they switch weeks. It could depend on if you want to see Hairspray on Oasis or Chicago on Allure. I think either ship has so many of the same amenities that is not a big difference. We have been on the Allure twice and it is our favorite ship. As far as the other questions, the room service is free most of the time except after a certain time, but that seems to be the case on all the ships. Free pizza on the promenade, free donuts on the boardwalk (Allure) and they do have free soft serve ice cream by the pool.
I hope that helps.

Missy, So a couple of things. This is a great review. I enjoy the first timer perspective. We will be on the Allure on the 31st so I am reading every word you have said. We sailed on her last year and this year will be going with DD and FSIL. On that note, good for you for not sharing a room with your BF because they will not be staying in the same room either. FSIL will be with DH and DD will be with me. You do not find that very often.
Also tell your BF THANK YOU for his service. It is very appreciated.
We also took a "mascot" with us on one of our last cruises. My nephew made us
"clay lump". That was his name because well, he was made out of clay. He went everywhere with us and he had his own photo album. I gave it to my nephew and he loved it.
Looking forward to more before we leave on our cruise. GREAT JOB.

Good grief! I said I was a "little" depressed ... didn't realize that the term "depressed" was exclusively used for clinical depression. It is negative responses like this that make reading the boards frustrating for me.
Basically, I was writing because I had just had a fantastic cruising experience and excited to realize that I finally caught on to the idea of people being addicted to cruising ... something I never would have thought possible prior to my first cruise last year! Way to try and burst my bubble ... sorry you didn't succeed:)
I am glad he or she did not burst your bubble. I feel the same way when we are in the plane on the way home but we always purchase a "next cruise" or actually book one on the ship so we have that to look forward to. It is only $100 and you get up to 3-$100 OBC. They have to sail with you but each cabin gets $100 so that is a nice perk.

Thank you for the response. Does this apply to purchases on the ship too?
When I have tried in the past I was told there is no price dickering on the ship but it sure could have changed. That was quite a while ago and I have stopped trying and just get my jewelry in port. That being said maybe it is different on each ship or things have changed. I am looking forward to what others have found out because we are sailing soon and would like to look while on the ship.

The specialty coffee is available for free only in the Diamond Lounge, deck 6, overlooking the Promenade. Specialty coffee ordered in the MDR will cost extra.
Bob, Thanks for the quick answer. I am not a huge coffee drinker but once in a while I like to have one. Do you know what time they serve the breakfast? Thanks.

Good luck on your travels. I hope everything goes well.
As a diamond member did I see that during breakfast we can have specialty coffees and is it in the MDR?

Sherri, I am loving your review. It is the first thing I look for when getting on CC.
I do have one question, if you only went to one specialty restaurant which one would you pick? We are looking at Samba grill because we have a Brazilian steak house here that sounds kind of the same and it is one of our favorites, or Chops. We have been to Chops already on a different ship and really enjoyed it very much. Our FSIL that is traveling with us is a very big eater, he plays football so he needs a lot of food. I know he will get plenty of that on a cruise.;)
Thanks for your opinion on which one you liked better.

Am I crazy for wanting to do this on Allure? Probably....
I was on the Allure last year and took the stairs everyday to the pool. Our cabin was on the 3rd floor so I did get in a lot of excercise:eek: Some of the people we were with thought I was nuts but I did not gain a pound and ate more than my share. I am not bragging just saying that it can be done. We have always taken the stairs, it saves from having to wait for an elevator and the pushy people. The only time it was hard was when we boarded on the first floor and wanted to go to the Windjammer on 11 (other ship) and I was coming down with something and the stairs won. I needed to stay in that night.:(

Sherri, WOW Thank you so much for your review. I just spent the morning reading it and I am looking forward to getting to the finish. I will be sailing on the Allure in April with DH, DD and FSIL. It will be the FSIL first cruise so I am more excited to see what he thinks. DD has been on 3 others and when we got back from the Allure last year she wanted to go with us this year. We could not stop talking about how much we liked the Allure. This will be the first time in quite sometime that we are only traveling with 4. We usually travel with a big group so that will bring a whole new twist on things. Thanks again. Having sailed on the Allure before it is bringing back some great memories.

As far as I know it is 1 per person not 2 per cabin, hope that answers your question. Have a great cruise.
