  1. Has anyone done this recently? We have a cabana reserved for April 11th and I'm curious about safety with all the recent news. I realize Cozumel is miles away from the latest, but it is at a level 2. Thank you for any insight.

About 15+ minutes in the cab, depending upon traffic, then the walk through the shops and along the pier. I would plan on at least 30 minutes - maybe more.  You do not want to be a pier runner!

Thank you! Sounds like an hour should do the trick.

Make sure you also hand in your card at table games to track your play there. If you're going to be a regular in the casino on your cruise it's worth your while to find and meet the casino host  for your cruise. Tip the dealers. You can check your points accumulation on the slots machines and also a new feature, on the phone app, although it may or may not be accurate.

IF you're accumulating points at a good pace it's not inappropriate to speak to the casino host about comping a meal at a specialty restaurant. Sometimes that could come automatically, but it never hurts to ask, all they can say is 'You need to play a little more before I can do that'. That's why it's always good to meet and make yourself known to the casino host.

Thank you so much for all the helpful information!!

You use your S&S card as your casino card - you can track your points, which reset after each cruise, on the HUB app.

I haven't really ever seen a whiskey list anywhere for Carnival, but do remember seeing Jack Daniels, Buffalo Trace, and Woodford Reserve in the bourbon category. There may have been a couple other bourbons, but most of their whiskeys I saw on my last few cruises were scotch, which I am not a fan of. I just stuck with the BT when I wanted it neat since it's hard to find at home and is a somewhat decent bourbon.

Thank you! Sounds like a good plan.

I'm curious about this. When and how did you get this card? What does it look like? Is there an expiration date? I'm assuming your VIFP # is on it? I've NEVER seen one and I'm not sure what the purpose of it especially give Carnival's Casino program doesn't even have visible tiers levels to attain, so there's really no purpose to it.

At one time, I thought I read that there was a card. I was just looking for clarification as to what card you use. I didn't know if I needed to get an OPC before or at the casino, but apparently it doesn't exist.

S&S card is the card to use onboard. I didn't know the Ocean Players club gave out cards.

No, not all bars have all bourbons. The steakhouse bar, and Guy's Smokehouse bar, tend to have the most extensive bourbon selection. The casino bar pretty much tops out at Woodford Reserve.

Thank you. Can you go to the steakhouse bar if you're not eating there?

  7. On my first cruise I kept wondering who Bill was, and how did he have so many friends that they got an entire lounge once a day. Then on my second cruise he was back again - what a coincidence! It wasn't until my 3rd cruise I found out :)

I wondered too when I first started cruising. Thank goodness for this board.

  8. I'm looking for ideas for a group cruise name. We are a group of 18 to include 7 couples, one adult female and 3 teenage boys. We are cruising on the Enchantment of the Seas March 11th. Was hoping to find something we can use again if this turns into an annual event. Thank id advance for your help.
