  1. We went to Cahneys our first night on the Joy and wanted to send back both of our rib eyes since they had so much gristle but we were pressed for time. The next night we went to Q and loved the food (sampler) , the peach margarita and the band. We had Cagneys booked for a second night and cancelled that and went to Q again. We probably will never do Cagneys on any ship if there is a Q or a Moderno on board.

I believe that all I need to be reachable in emergencies while cruising NCL is the 250 minutes of NCL “free” internet and my phone enabled for WiFi calling.  I will turn off the cellular upon boarding (Airplane mode).  Will I then be able to just activate my NCL free internet promo a couple times a day to allow my phone to receive any phone messages?  Can I then turn off the consumption of my free internet minutes but leave the WiFi on to still use the NCL app?  NCL’s website has a lot of words about options for making and receiving phone calls but at this point I don’t believe I need to worry about any of them.  Thanks for sharing any recent experiences.

Once in Bermuda, depending on what carrier you use, you can just use cellular. T-mobile is free to use, Verizon and ATT have a travel pass package for $10 a day while in Bermuda and you can use cellular, data and texting. Check with your carrier to be sure.

  3. . I have found that, disappointingly, I am unable to "find" some of the people who have posted on the Roll Call that I really looked forward to meeting. When one only knows a screen name, that is of no use in trying to make contact with them on a ship.

I think you have hit on one of the key problems with CC, anonymity. We recently did a cruise and there were only 40 or so people signed up for a M&G through Cc and 148 on the private Facebook page for it. Approximately 100 people showed up at the M&G and this was one of the topics discussed. Years ago when we would cruise you had to re-introduce yourself with your real name, hi I’m Bobh002 but in real life I’m Bob. Or as some have suggested, wearing something unique. However on FB you can see who you are chatting/cruising with and seem to get a better feel if you want to ‘hang out’ with them for the cruise you will be on. Maybe CC may want to redo their format and possibly change their pages so that chats flow smoother and you know who that person really is, instead of a screen name.

  4. Yes I received a confirmation email almost immediately after I submitted payment. You might want to check your spam.

FYI in the email, it states if I need to cancel, just reply to the email and send the request.

Mine went to spam also. But it won't in the future. And for someone saying you won't get OBC or a discount that's ok with me but I'm sure they will come in due time. Like eroller said, I'm just looking to secure the maiden voyage.

  5. We are in the Haven today on the Breakaway and will get the Vibe class. A small insurance policy if we would rather not be around kids and be able to enjoy the outdoor bar that won't be over crowded. We have had a blast in the Vibe area every time and met some great people.

  6. We went to Coco Reef 2 years ago and plan on going back next week on our cruise. Here is the email I received from them last week,

  7. We have sailed out of NY several times and the last poster is correct. Sailing out, the skyline will be on your left and the Statue of Liberty on your right.

But besides that, you should be out, on an upper deck, for this. Don't stay in your room on your balcony. Sailing out of NY is amazing, going down the Hudson River, past the new Freedom Tower, by the Statue of Liberty and under the Verrazano Bridge. You really need to be up and out to experience it all.

    Cheers
