  1. I did my first solo at the beginning of May this year.I was apprehensive as I walked into checking in but told myself to look confident!!!!I booked a single cabin so even at mustering I was seated with other solos.I requested a solos table for dinner which I got and we had a lot of fun.We used to go to the shows together or a drink or just a chat.sometimes we would meet up while wandering around the port or when we went to watch a film.LOVED it and as soon as I came back booked a 12 nighter for next year!! i could go to bed when I wanted and have a lie down in the day if I wanted ....I only felt lonely the second night as I hadn't really built up a relationship with anyone yet..great fun after that initial blip!!

  2. thanks for your reply!

I am going with a friend on MSC this October.we get it in Valencia....i have only been on P&O as a solo....just starting my solo adventures as fed up of waiting for folks to want to cruise or helping a friend financially so that I can go with someone....so by myself is better!!!I have booked to the Canaries for August 2015 again with P&O.

  3. I have just done a solo cruise from Southampton ...on Azura to the fjords.I didn't know anyone on board but met lots of people both in pairs and alone.I asked to sit at a table of solos.we all used to go to the shows together after dinner.I loved it so much I have booked another for next year.

  4. I actually live in Gibraltar…so if you need any info just ask.

as regards coins…I always sort out my UK coins and Gin coins before I leave home as even telephones in UK willNOT accept Gib coins…so best to spend before you leave us.

we do not accept Irish or Scottish coins either…well thats if they notice them!we used to see them a lot but in the past few years haven't seen any.

  5. Sharon I get the same reaction when mym friends find out that I am booked to go solo!!!!they think I am mad!!!

I used to cruise with my Mum who is now 100 and has severe dementia.I have also cruised a lot with a very close friend and that is great but financially she is not able to cruise much....other friends are not interested in cruising.one of my daughters likes it a bit....so ..I want to go ....so I will!!!!!!!!!!
