I haven't been here in forever! My fiance and I are booked on the Enchantment of the Seas in September. We were trying to decide between an Olivia cruise for just ourselves or a "family vacation" with 14 others this summer. We (for some strange reason :p) chose to do the family vacation this year with RCI and we'll do the Olivia next year.

It depends on whether you feel the extra $'s are worth spending 7 days with 1800 other women ;). Being entertained by (mostly) lesbian entertainers, meeting sports icons etc. Plus, being pampered by both Olivia & Holland America staff...their service is super.

I believe that on your cruise you have Paula Cole, Billy Jean King, (she's a fantastic speaker) Vikki Shaw, Rene Hicks, Suede & many others. What a great lineup.

 

I dont think you'll regret doing this trip. I'm sure you will have the time of your lives. You might decide it's not worth the money though, some do. It's a matter of choice. We've been on 7 because we prefer it to any other way of travelling.

Hello ladies! My gf and I just booked an Olivia cruise!! We are so excited! This is our first Olivia cruise. I know someone in here had posted they had been on Olivia before. Was it worth the money? We went with RC last summer but decided to splurge tis year. We'll be going to Cabo San Lucas Mexico and a few other places in Mexico. Woohoo!!

I've cruised with Carnival and RCI and will never take another Carnival so its between RCI and O. I'm anxious to hear from couples who have sailed with Olivia as well.

Hello ladies! I'vee been MIA for a month or so. I had a wonderful cruise. We got engaged the day after my birthday :D Savanna surprised me with a beautiful ring. I couldn't believe it! We both loved the cruise and are looking to book another within the next few weeks. I hope all is well with everyone!

Thanks cruisinJ&C. It's especially an accomplishment since we retired, made a drastic change in location PLUS went through menopause & quitting smoking together!! A real test on a relationship!:eek:

Hurricane season isn't until late summer early fall. I was thinking between April -July for a group thing. Just ideas...

I still like the idea of summer 08 better for a group cruise. 24 days left until mine...cannot wait!!

Mithryl, gosh no you arent little old ladies. Most of our friends are older anyways. We too love friends of all ages. A Canada trip sounds great! We're pretty much up for anything! Hope everyone's having a lovely day!

Mexican riv. sounds great! Although, LA's on the other side of the US for us so flights would probably be really expensive. But we could pull it off. We've always wanted to do those cruises but just didnt want to pay that much for flights. I deff think we could all pull together and do a summer 08 cruise! Hmm how old is everyone (not that it matters AT ALL). Just wondering if we would be the young ones of the group.

Twice I've been asked if my girlfriend is my son. It bothers her but I just shrug it off. Im really excited about our cruise is ONE MONTH! I hope we dont have any problems with closed mindeds. But- if we do, oh well. Its our vacation too, we wont let it get to us.

Thanks Lis! I really want to do the formal thing, and she doesnt do girly so she's nervous about wearing a more masculine suit. I dont really think people would be rude to us, she just gets embarassed really easy and I would hate to put her in that position. However, we're not letting any of this ruin or rule our vacation.

My girlfriend has never cruised before but is very excited about our trip this April with RC. We are a little apprehensive about taking a regular line but have found the same as most...pricing on Olivia is just too much.

We're most anxious about the dinner seating. It's unfortunate that it's even an issue, but we're thinking of avoiding the main dining room all-together because of this. Any advice?
