Palma is beautiful , if you don’t want an excursion, take the shuttle into town , and stroll round the old streets beside the Cathedral then go to the market if it’s on and just get lost in the little side streets ,There’s a hoho bus you can use as well but if you can try an excursion MAjorca is a beautiful island.

Lovely report and pictures.... thanks for sharing, still so sorry we missed you. But onwards and upwards ....
-
That’s so good to hear, I hope he gets well really quickly and you get another cruise booked soon, that’s what we’ve done.. best wishes to you all
-
I’m so pleased he’s getting better, there will be other cruises ,but I know exactly how your feeling at the moment, good luck with the insurance company we’re nearly a month after my husbands missed cruise and still no further forward.sending my best wishes to you all and as soon as things calm down book another cruise ....
-
We got a refund from RCI of the missed excursions , didn’t have a drinks package so can’t comment, hope your son is better today ....
-
I hope your son is ok and I know just how your feeling even though ours wasn’t quiet as traumatic as yours .My husband collapsed on a coach going to joinIndy in May and was taken to hospital thankfully after lots of tests he was fine. unfortunately I’ve had nothing but trouble with Insurance company and were frankly dreadful in my hours of need. I was totally abandoned I couldn’t get through to anyone. Thank goodness for the nurses and doctor at hospital..
I couldn’t do anything as far as RCI we’re concerned until the ship came back into port after the cruise as it was a no show it’s going to take a while until it all gets sorted and I’ve been so frustrated.
The main thing is your son is being looked after, there will be more cruises and take comfort that this didn’t happen at sea . Thinking about you all and I hope in a couple of days things are much better...... take care and look after yourself I know how stressful it is ...
-
Yes that’s so true. Always another day, so looking at your photos is next best thing ...lol we’ve booked a cruise to the Baltic’s in August not with RCI but sure it will be good, take care you never know one of these days or paths might cross again ... ......

I was wondering if you hadn't considered doing my time dining and asking for a table for two, my hubby has problems hearing at a large table and we always do MTD now .
-
A kettle is provided in all cabins on the RCI sailings from Southampton , with teabags , but bring your own coffee , this has been the norm for a few years now
-
I think you've hit the nail on the head....I did enjoy myself don't get me wrong but as I've said this time it just wasn't up to scratch. We always sail from Southampton now but as you say this was the first time after the TA and I think that was the problem .I have no intention of going into the tipping on here but that could be a factor as well,I hope your cruise on Navigator is better I'm sure it will be.

I'm sorry to hear that Chrissy but glad in away I've been thinking it was me feeling like this, as I've had some not very nice comments by people who say we're moaners.
I have made comments about things but got to put it behind us now, just glad our next cruises are on Indy,we still had a great time met lovely people and can't fault our waiters and cabin steward who were first class, but sorry to say we will be looking else where in the future.

Were just back from the same cruise, it was the worst we've been on, not bad but not up to the usual standards. the entertainment was dreadful apart from the headliner acts who were great. The whole organisation of the entertainment was dreadful and Drew Devine was not around apart from to introduce the show but had no interaction apart from farewell show when he played the drums .some night there was nothing on apart from the ice show but we weren't told ahead of time that there would be nothing else on .. The food was ok nothing special and the windjammer wasn't good at all maybe if you'd gone to speciality restaurants you'd feel differently. I wasn't aware of any venues being unavailable we went to them all. We've been on 9 different RCI ships and Navigator was a disappointment not like her sister ships at all I'm glad we're booked on Indy next I won't book Navigator until I hear better reports which hopefully will be when a new CD arrives

I totally agree with Monaco the gardens are beautiful outside the Cathedral where Princes Grace got married, there's also a spot beside the Royal Palace which overlooks the harbour of Monaco. Santorini is ok but very busy As an old lady lol I would suggest proposing on her actual birthday, I got married 50. Years ago on my birthday and were still going strong, don't wait .

We had Jamie Fentiman on Indy in October he's one of the best, very friendly and high profile around the ship, also a great singer.

😄 it's a term we English use to describe something that's unpleasant and has too much water in it , I don't think anyone has ever drunk dishwater. 😄😄

We're just off Independence ,we've never had any trouble with. My time Dining. We always Prebook a time and get the same table and waiters each night and have always had wonderful service. This has applied to every different ship we've been on which is 7 so far.
-
Yes MTD was on deck 3 in May our waiters said they'd changed it because of the numbers of people opting for MTD now .
-
I'd put it somewhere safe in your carry on, security in May at the Med ports and uk was heightened We had to take all jewellery off including bracelets , watches even our shoes not at every port but you didn't know which.I was allowed to keep rings on my fingers though . I set the alarm off and we never found out why but I was searched boarding the ship. I wouldn't take the chance of setting it off and spoiling the surprise.
-
It is very easy to do on your own, we did get the ships shuttle water boat as it goes to St Marks where the local ferries leave as well so very easy especially on way back. We pre booked the Dodges Palace online before we went it's unmissable. I'm so jealous. Venice is wonderful we've been three times now and it's still not enough ..lol Be sure to be out on deck for the sail in/ out its magical.

Cursed,....the curse is Social Media where everyone knows everything immediately. Things like this have gone on all the time but people didn't get to know.
My thoughts are with everyone involved, thankfully there's a lot of good caring people out there.

Lol I'm 70 my husband is 75 apart from the rock climbing wall and the flowrider I don't consider anything else out of bounds .....Sorry but unless you have ill health age is just a number.
Walking from Warnemunde train station to cruise port

That was taken from our balcony. It’s really close to station and as someone else said there’s a tunnel underneath the railway line to get to the town ... it’s lively port
