Just off the Ruby yesterday. This was 3rd Alaska cruise and the best. The food was totally awesome. I tried new dishes I would not normally try and so glad I did. The weather couldn't have been better although it rained in Juneau after we left Mendenhall glacier so for those arriving it was pouring pretty hard. The band at sail away was very good. They played throughout the cruise. The weather in glacier bay was sunny without a cloud in the sky. I laid out on the balcony with a tank top and got sunburned. Didn't do many shows but do recommend The Voice of the Sea....just like TV. The showroom was standing room only for the finals. Soooooo much fun. Hope everyone enjoys this as much as we did.

Thanks so much for posting, we leave next Saturday and these patters increase my excitement which I didn't think I could get more excited. This is my third Alaskan cruise, but it's been 6 years since my last one! Thanks again for going through the trouble of posting these!

There's a lovely resort near the airport called Cedarbrook Lodge, very reasonable, highly rated and has free shuttle, breakfast and lots of other perks. We are going the day before our cruise and will stay there, then take their shuttle back to the airport and take the Princess shuttle round trip the day of the cruise and back to the airport on the return and it's $58/pp so it's an option. If you want to do downtown hotels, this won't work.

Check out the Cedarbrook Lodge close to the airport, it's really lovely resort and the prices are very reasonable. It's a lot classier than the average hotel downtown, it includes breakfast and airport transportation. Check the rates as they have reduced rates for different groups, such as AARP, AAA. We are staying there before our cruise in May-already booked. Held with a credit card and you can cancel up until 2 days before your stay.
