A quick hello from on board Queen Victoria. Boarding was smooth as usual. A bit of a surprise was that we had an old fashioned muster drill at 4pm. The video on TV still says to go to be scanned on so not updated yet.

I was looking forward to seeing QA in Southampton. Oh well, I will have to wait until Liverpool in June.

A lovely concert tonight at King Georges Hall in Blackburn with the Halle Orchestra. A Night at the Oscars.
Highlights included West Side Story, Frozen, Star Wars, Titanic Schindler's List and Ben Hur.

I went to see Sir Karl Jenkins at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester today. An excellent concert including extracts from "The Armed Man".

I am due in Southampton on the 27th and boarding QV on the 28th. I am staying outside the city so I will have to wait until Sunday to see her (if I can wait and don't make a special trip into the centre).

I am just back from an eventful trip to Bognor Regis on the South Coast of England. Credit to Alfa the tour company for being efficient when things went wrong.
The coach (bus) broke down on the way so we had to get a replacement for the list bit of the journey. 3 nice days at the hotel including a trips to Arundel, Chichester and Portsmouth. On the way home we had a tyre blowout, thankfully we were in traffic and not going very fast so we had to get a replacement for the rest of the trip. In total I had 6 coaches and 5 drivers.
I got to see HMS Queen Elizabeth in Portsmouth, from a distance anyway.

By coincidence or did you know?
I know she was in Liverpool but that was enough. Now I just need my invite to the ceremony.

Anyone ever stayed at Chilworth Manor and used their cruise and park option. Have stayed at hotel before so no issues just wondered where the car is left and did transfers work OK.
I'm trying it for the first time in April/May.

We had snow here on Tuesday, the last of the ice has finally gone today. It was minus 6 on Wednesday night so we've had a taste of winter.
Not a lot else to report here just plodding on and trying to make it to February 🙃

No invitation for me but on the bright side I can't go anyway as I'm on Queen Victoria.

I'm boarding QV on the 28th April so now I'm hoping I might get to see Queen Anne as well, that would be a nice bonus.

As a New Year treat I opened a bottle of Chateau de Gangway as won on board QV in September. A Merlot and quite nice.

We've had a couple of storms here, thankfully no damage locally, but there was a tornado about 50 miles away which didn't last long but caused a lot of damage.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.

I'm also on this trip.
I have booked for the tulip festival from Rotterdam.
There is usually a shuttle to Blankenburg where you can get a train to Brugge trains are every hour.

I got off an MSC cruise last Sunday (8 hours late into port) with a cold, that turned out to be Covid. My first time. I knew I was coming home to my niece who also has Covid. At least we know we didn’t give it to each other. Not real sick, just like a cold. EM
Get well soon

Having seen the news about some ships no longer going via the Red Sea, I thought there might be some changes to world cruises. No new yet as far as I know.

Sounds like an "upgrade" but this is not always as good as it sounds. There will be more movement in deck 8 than 5, and it could be noisy, worth checking a deck plan to see what's above.

I can confirm the above. No fencing on the current voyage.
