  1. Darkwolfe, love that photo !!!

The time it takes to get down river or up river will also depend on the depth, the speed of the current, and the amount of traffic on the river.

When we left out of NOLA last March on Voyager, it took about 7 hours to get to the Gulf. Coming back, we were entering the Mississippi about 9:00 pm and docked about 6:00 am - that's 9 hours. But time back up river may have been slower to allow for docking at the correct time.

Going against the current of the River plays a factor too.

While in NOLA several times, we took the boat "Audubon" from the Aquarium upriver to the Audubon Zoo - seems like it took a good while, but didn't time it - return trip, with the current, I didn't even have time to finish my drink (Coke) LOL.

  2. SHIP: Equinox

    CABIN #:6175

    DECK (#):6 Continental

    CLASS: 2C

AREA: not very far from the internet room...Celebrity online and elevators

    BED NEAR: bath

    QUIET? yes

BALCONY VIEW: lifeboat at your feet, but good view straight out

    BALCONY SIZE: normal

    WIND A PROBLEM?: no

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: My first balcony and price was right. I loved it, but will book a higher deck next time.

  3. Has anyone stayed in this particular cabin (Equinox or Solstice)?

I'm curious about bed location, interconnected cabin doorway(s), and partially obstructed view from balcony.

I know a lifeboat will be directly below my feet (somehow comforting LOL), but how far does it stick out past my railing? I don't need to see the water below my cabin - I know what water looks like - but how much will I have to look out "over" the lifeboat?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark
