I am currently booked on NCL Star in 2022. It is doing 4 stops in Iceland. The cruise starts at Reykjavik, then stops at Isafjordur, Akureyri and Seydisfjordur. This cruise also stops in Belfast, Liverpool, Dublin, Cobh, Portland UK and ends in Southampton. This cruise starts on a Thursday, so my plan right now is fly from the U.S. to KEF Friday night, arriving on Saturday morning. This gives us 4 full days plus a light day on Saturday and Thursday. I plan to either rent a campervan or car and explore the South coast, spending Wednesday night in Reykjavik. I also looked at the cruise that calls on Reykjavik and Akureyi for a day and half each, but this cruise checked off more of my bucket list stops.

We did a Southbound Pacific Coastal in September 2015. While our itinerary was different, we did call on some of the same ports as your cruise.
San Francisco:
Day One: we arranged a semi-private tour to Napa with Green Hill Wine Tours. It was my DH and I along with five other passengers from our ship. We stopped at 4 wineries and a stop for lunch. They were very accommodating. I requested a specific winery (at booking) and another passenger requested a "cave tasting". We were able to do both.
Day Two: we went to Alcatraz (booked in advance) and then walked around/Ubered to Giants Stadium, Ghiradelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf etc.
Monterey: we rented a car from Enterprise and drove 17-mile. We tried to stop at Pebble Beach golf course, but there was tournament and there was no parking. 😞 We also stopped at the Carmel Mission. We wanted to stop in Carmel for a bite to eat but it was very busy. A tour bus had just dropped off 100 people, so we skipped the stop!
LA: we went to Hollywood Blvd and walked around looking at the stars. We booked a tour with a vendor on Hollywood Blvd that took us to see famous filming locations and houses of famous people.
Have a great cruise!

I was supposed to be leaving for Hawaiian cruise in ten days. I cashed in a bunch of points at work for Amazon gift cards. In February I ordered the following: two swimsuits, reef safe sun screen, passport wallet, portable charger, reusable straws, Tide sink packets, packing cubes and non-surge protector power strip. I am sure I will find a way to use most of these now or in the future.

Hi Maris,
Congratulations on your new grand baby! I am really enjoying your review.
My cruise for April has been cancelled, so we are looking at doing the Reflection in November.
I appreciate the pictures and all of the detail.
Stay well!

I normally book directly with the cruise lines, but for my next cruise on NCL I plan to book with a TA.
Final payment is due 12/31, but I will probably book shortly afterwards due to vacation approvals etc.
I plan to book a specialty dining package. Can I do that through the TA or will I be able to do it directly with the NCL via the app?
Thanks!

There are also restrooms as you enter the customs area. We made a pit stop before getting in line.

Hello my family will be on the Allure. We have booked Godfrey's shopping and sightseeing tour. Where does he take you to shop? Is it near the entrance to Paradise Point?
Thanks

Curious: are others looking at alternative cruise or land itineraries “in case” NCL cancels

We have been defaulting to plan B for the last two years. Three cruises cancelled, so we have taken several trips to Mexican AI’s and weekend trips around the US. Fingers crossed our Iceland cruise on the Star is a go this June. Flights have been bought with miles. One way or another I am going to Europe!
