  1. Hi all, currently on the Mardi Gras, sitting on deck 8, and looking at the Freedom.

We return to Port Canaveral on Saturday. The ship is close to capacity. We are delayed leaving Grand Turk as many of the Mardi Gras’s engineers are on the Freedom assisting with inspections and to see if they can get the engine running, and this is delaying our departure until 8 pm. The captain just spoke on the PA system confirming that the Mardi Gras is providing support while we are in port today.

No word on any guests from the Freedom joining us on the Mardi Gras, or word on plans on how the Freedom passengers are getting back to Port Canaveral. Currently Freedom guests are on shore and on deck, some are even swimming in the pools. If it weren’t for the debris on deck and burned off funnel, you wouldn’t have any idea of an incident.

Hope this clears up some of the speculation and confusion.

  2. Highly recommend you check out the Visitor Toll Pass program. There is a manned kiosk in the rental car section of MCO. This program will charge your credit card based on the tolls you use. When you register, you connect your credit card, add the rental car license plate info via the app or website, and hang the tag from the rear view mirror. Just make sure to unlink the rental car when you return it if you’re not returning it back to MCO. When you’re back at MCO, you can just drop the tag in a bin like a mailbox right by the rental car return. We’ve used this service several times on vacations in Central Florida, including to Port Canaveral and back in different rental cars, and really enjoy it. Way better than paying any fees to the rental car companies!

  3. We were on the Horizon 10/16 and I found that the majority of passengers were wearing their masks correctly indoors. There were of course outliers but the they were reminded by their traveling parties to put their masks on. There were announcments in the casino and in the lounges before the show to wear masks correctly. Didn't have any issues with people on elevators not wearing masks. There were staff at the entrances to the buffet to remind passengers to wear their masks.

I dont mind the aft movement either its comforting at night. I was a bit concerned about size of the room but it's not like we are doing aerobics in there. Just two people trying to have a quiet space to get away from the other 3600 passengers. It's funny because the room looks big on the deck plan

There's a lot room on the side of the cabin where the desk and mirror are - but the part of the cabin you actually move around in, around the beds, to the bathroom and door - are very tight to the wall. It's a funny layout for sure. The deck is worth it, though!

  5. We had cabin 8473 on the Breeze, so the opposite wrap of yours. There was little to no noise, but we did feel some movement at night. I'm not sensitive to the movement, so it felt like the ship rocked me to sleep. The room's shape did lead to some awkward furniture placement. We have our beds separated so we actually had to push the ends of the beds together so we could make our way around them without being squished into the wall. That said, we really liked the room, the balcony was amazing, and I'd book it again for sure. You can't beat that view!! Have a great time!

  6. Just got off the 4/1 sailing, and we used the internet package. We purchased the premium package, and it was pretty good! I didn't do any speed tests or anything, but most pages loaded relatively quickly. We were able to watch youtube videos and check in on the webcams where the dogs were being boarded for the week. There were a few sites that we weren't able to get to load at all the whole trip (mostly work related things) but overall I was impressed with it for the money I paid.
