  1. Ship: Magic

    Deck 2

    Stateroom: 2459

    Inside Stateroom

    Port Side

Quiet Stateroom? NO. Extremely noisy when coming into port, hear dropping of the anchor, captain maneuvering the ship.

    No connecting stateroom.

Multiple issues with this cabin.  Electrical problems the entire cruise, could not watch TV when charging a cell phone or when using any electrical outlet. Could not use own blow dryer, as it would make lights flicker.  Cabin's blow dryer does work, but could not blow dry hair and watch TV.

Plumbing issues with this cabin as the toilet would not flush all the way. Multiple calls to maintenance to have them unclog the toilet.

Best advice is to avoid this cabin at all costs!

  2. Carnival sent a follow up email late this afternoon asking us to download the Verifly App for Magic 2/6, indicating there was an issue that prevented us from locating our sailing and it has now been fixed.  Downloaded Verifly just fine, uploaded photo, vaccination record...just have to upload my negative test result tomorrow night.  Hope this app makes embarkation faster!

  3. We also received the email, as we are on Magic starting 2/6.  I think someone sent the emails out erroneously.  I downloaded verifly as well and it could not find our booking number either.   Thought it might save a few minutes at the pier.

Maybe it will start working on Friday....when the health questions are in effect.

Bring a small extension cord if you are on one of the older ships.  Don't bring one with a surge protector though.  They aren't allowed.

FYI, no-one cares if you wear the same clothes for dinner more than once.

If you want more than one appetizer, entree, dessert, order it.  They will bring it to you.

OP,  thank you for starting this thread.  We fly out tomorrow for a 7 day on the Pride.  It's our first cruise since...well, you know...  It is finally sinking in that we are actually NOT CANCELING.  Yay!!!!!

My extension cord that does not have a surge protector was confiscated in November on Carnival Horizon. They delivered it back to my stateroom the morning of debarkation.  I have always brought it and never had an issue before November 2021.

Do you have to be an Ohio resident to get tests from your library? We are not far from you, just over the border into Pennsylvania... I wonder if it is worth the 30 minute drive to get free proctered test kits...

Ohio announced yesterday that they are  diverting the tests to schools now.  Local libraries and health agencies aren't being given them at this point.

I’m really enjoying your review.  Next month we are cruising for the first time since 2017.
Now that menus are available on the app, can you see all MDR menus for the entire cruise, or are they only available for each day on that day?

I would love to see all menus when I board in order to schedule specialty restaurants on days when we don’t care for the mdr menu.

When we were on Horizon in November, we could see all the funtimes as well as all the MDR menus on the app for the entire week. It was awesome to me, as I'm a planner!

  7. My husband and I have taken some 40+ cruises and we almost always book an interior cabin.  We are active people, so we are seldom in the cabin.  Many on cruise critic would never consider booking an interior, but we actually sleep better because of the darkness.  We'd rather book an interior and go on another cruise, rather than limit ourselves to just one a year. We don't cruise for the actual cabin, but rather for the ports.

    Hope you enjoy yourselves.
