We booked this cruise last minute and took the guaranteed cabin. After 26 cruises we should have known better than to book a guarantee but we were told there were no balcony obstructions and never thought we'd have an issue with treadmills! We were happy Celebrity decided to move us but we had just unpacked and then had to repack and move ourselves to a cabin that was not recently renovated like the one we paid for and then unpack again... not something that's fun to do on your first and second day of the cruise....then of course we had to deal with Guest Services to make all this happen which took 3 or 4 phone calls and visits to the GS desk which wasn't fun either. At first they told us there were no more cabins available!
Yes, we were able to keep our Aqua Class perks and Celebrity even added to it but it was still a very unpleasant experience.

Just off of the Equinox and have a warning for anyone considering Aqua Class on this ship. We were in a forward Cabin, 1508 on the 11th deck, which is dedicated to the Aqua Class passengers. The treadmills in the gym are located directly above many of the Aqua Class Cabins. The pounding sound of people running hard on the treadmills made it impossible to sleep-in or relax in the room. We heard this aggravating sound, morning, noon and night, until they finally agreed to move us to another cabin, which they basically downgraded us off the Aqua Class Deck to Deck 9. The expected experience of our first AQ Class cruise just wasn't the same after that. I find it amazing this ship was designed that way and even more amazing Celebrity thinks it wouldn't bother guests that paid extra for relaxation.

You go ahead and buy your beer from the grocery store. After all, it has the advantage of being able to sit at home in front of the TV in your wifebeater watching Nascar.
Your comparison makes me laugh. On land you have other options like a grocery store. On a cruise ship they take advantage of the fact you have no other choice... actually they control your choice so you have no other option but to pay their high prices the entire time. On land in the US that would be considered price gouging, which is actually a crime... Elimination of a free market and price manipulation of a controlled addictive substance. So, yeah not a fair game being played by the Cruise Lines.

Old thread here but I just had to add on....Long time smugglers here, 21 cruises & never caught. Quite sure our savings have led to at least 2 free cruises. We just can't justify paying an additional $1,000 -$1,500 when we can bring our own for around $50-$75.00. Anytime I can save $1,000-$1500.00 I'm all in!
The beverage package would be great if they didn't "price gouge" us on the drinks. They know we are a captive group for a week so they seriously over-charge us and threaten us if we want to bring our own? Not ok with that at all...
Anyway, we use the Cruise Runners brand, high quality, never leaked, about $13.00 for 8 or 9 flasks. They also have "Wine Runner" Flasks specifically for bottles of wine, you can avoid corkage fees and not worry about breaking a bottle in your luggage. Good company with fast shipping. We sailed on the Aug. 17 British isles itinerary. There was an additional technical issue that came up after we sailed away from Guernsey on our cruise. We had already been delayed from our scheduled departure time. We ended up getting to our next port (Cobh, Ireland) around four hours late. They also delayed our departure from there. After the captain made the announcement about the technical problem, the lights in our corridor dimmed down to the emergency lighting level for 10 to 15 seconds. I was walking back to our cabin at the time. I'm not sure how many other areas of the ship were affected.
I talked to a crew member about the ongoing problems. He said the ship is currently limited to 17 knots. When it's fixed, it will be able to do up to 24 knots with favorable wind and currents. He did not know when they were going to fix it and did not say exactly what is wrong.
This is only one reason we'll never sail Princess again.... We had the exact same problem in June and they haven't fixed it! This ship sails the Caribbean too...imagine trying to get away from a hurricane on this??? Princess may be having financial problems. There was a lot of issues with the ship and the staff too on our cruise.

We sailed this ship in late June to The British Isles, 12 days... it's a mess, not only engine problems but leaking pipes and sewer smells in the hallways and even in the cabin bathroom. One of our ports was cut short by hours because of lack of full power.... no refund, they didn't seem to care. Apparently they still don't, otherwise it would have been repaired by now. Too many issues to list here but as others have said Princess is going downhill fast... and we can see why. We won't sail them again, plenty of other cruise lines offering better services for similar prices.

Expensive and not worth it in our opinion. Spend your hard earned money with a Cruise Line that actually values their guests, not rips them off! Don't waste your time with Princess, they aren't the same company they once were.

22 cruises here...We made a big mistake this July and chose Princess to take us through the British Isles. We'll never sail Princess again, really bad overall experience and the company doesn't seem to care.
We sailed NCL Jade "Back to Back" in the Med and had a very nice experience. It's a smaller ship but we were very comfortable sailing on her for 21 days,
RCCL, never a problem.

Need some help with this one....Disembarking the cruise ship at Le Havre and looking to travel to Beaune from there. Is there an English website for train times and costs? May consider going to Paris for a night or two before heading to the Burgundy region...just wondering what options we have, English speaking only, any suggestions will be appreciated.

We were just there this past week and it was waaayy to crowded, wall to wall people, kids everywhere and super loud music. Not what we had in mind. We left within 10 minutes and that was even too long. Rum Point is probably the best suggestion.
