Wish I was there with you Debra. :loudcry: Now cocktails- that's a first. Hope you and Rick have a great time.
Hi! Hope you are on the mend! We are having a great time! Immaculate cabin, very friendly crew, shirt-sleeve weather, good food - outstanding! Wish you were here.
Debra :)

We are currently on board the Vision. When we boarded the first day, our invitation to our MM was sitting on our desk. It was scheduled for 3 p.m. the next day - perfect. All aboard was 3:30 pm.
Upon entry to a large venue, the Some Enchanted Evening Lounge, we were greeted and handed raffle tickets. At least a half a dozen staff members were there, and we were greeted enthusiastically. Low turnout? Nope. We had several hundred CC members in attendance!
Royal very generously provided cocktails and nibbles. A pianist entertained us. Staff was introduced, jokes were told, and raffle swag was won by many. CC members actually mingled and made new friends.
Hands down, it was the best MM we have ever attended. Nice cruisers and wonderful staff who went above and beyond our expectations.
This is our first cruise on Royal, and we'll be back!

Actually that'd just be rhyming, not alliteration. The latter is "the repetition of usually initial consonant sounds in two or more neighboring words or syllables."
Helplessly hoping her harlequin hovers nearby
Awaiting a word
Gasping at glimpses of gentle true spirit he runs
Wishing he could fly
Only to trip at the sound of goodbye
Wordlessly watching he waits by the window and wonders
At the empty place inside
Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams he worries
Did he hear a good-bye?
Or even hello? -
After the fact -- so no help for this situation but maybe help in the future -- last time we went to Rome, I bought a ten- pack of sew-in/pin-in zippered pockets from hobotraveler.com. Pickpockets would have had to reach inside my waistband, unzipped the pocket, and fumbled around. We were glad we bought them. We sat down for a pre-cruise dinner with about 30 folks, and three couples had already had problems - missing phones, credit cards, and passports. The pockets gave us some peace of mind.

Hello: We're new to the Cape Liberty cruise port and could use a little guidance. Our ship (VOTS) docks at 6 am on September 9, 2017. We'll have to go through customs. I think the taxi ride would be 30 minutes, tops. Are we safe to book flights home at 1:30/2:30 pm?
Thanks!

Can I get a burger on a plate without a bun? Not so much a bread fan . . .

We second the endorsement of Josefina's cooking class in Cozumel. Find her on tripadvisor. It's a very short walk from the pier -- four or five blocks. We drank scratch margaritas and cooked and ate and had a great time. So much fun! Walked to the market, picked up beer and other items, cooked and ate. She is a charming and informative woman.

The staff told us Swiffer-like devices with long handles.
Not in a million years would I want that job.
But when you look, I swear there is not a speck of dust on anything! Just amazing!

I enjoyed all your pics of the glasswork. Some friends and I were just there a month or so ago and thought it was spectacular.
But we all focused on one thing very quickly. How do they clean those sculptures? They are spotless. How can they reach it all?
We were compelled at the end to stop and talk to staff about it.

We are flying in staying one night then boarding the OM2, looking at airport hotels... so many wonder if anyone recommend any?
I looked at a new Holiday Inn for $230 a night, looked like a new hotel, so would guess clean and acceptable for one night. We usually stay at Hilton or Embassy Suites, the Hilton for one night is $400 plus which seems high for a airport hotel on a Saturday night.
Just a couple months ago we did the same thing -- JFK overnight -- we stayed at the Hampton Inn for about $150/night (AAA or AARP rate). It is connected by a corridor to the Hilton, where there is a restaurant for dinner. Free shuttle to and from airport. Free breakfast at Hampton. It was very nice.

Or eat a little bit at a half a dozen places! We did a South Beach food tour with Miami Culinary Tours and had a wonderful time. Nice walk, interesting historical tidbits about the area. Much fun and lots of food. Best empanadas we have ever had. Yum!

Went to airport 40 miles away from home the night before for early early early morning flight to Quebec City. Got to airport check-in counter and discovered that I had left the mister's passport in the printer at home.
But we still made the cruise and had a wonderful time! Lovely lady at Alaska Airlines changed my tickets to Montreal later in the day at no charge. Drove home, picked up the passport, and made it to Montreal very late that night. Got up the next morning and figured out how to ride the fantabulous bus from Montreal to Quebec City. Very inexpensive, comfortable, and a beautiful drive. Made it to the cruise! :)
Never again . . .

If I recall correctly, Deb, you won LRC twice .......... or was your comment meant to be about the Seahawks winning? Anyhow, I hope you are going to join us.
How is the big guy doing?
Tom
Howdy! Yup -- I won twice and the mister won once. That was much fun on at-sea days. We are trying to whip up the same thing on our upcoming cruise in April. We shall see if we have any luck.
We're thinking about this cruise. Still pondering.
Say hello to your lovely missus!
Debra :)
Oh. The Bear is still vertical and on the green side of the grass.

Hi Amy;
We just returned from seven days on the Mexican west coast with HAL Zaandam. It was a super good cruise and really sold us on the smaller ships.
Your list of the NFL crew is growing bigger by the week and it looks like our retirement plans funded by LRC is unfolding just as Helen and I had planned.
We are really looking forward to next Feb and watching the Seahawks knock off whoever and I'm also sure we'll have as many laughs as we did when we were Malahinis headed to and from Hawaii.
Pass a "hello" from us to Austin.
Cheers - Tom
Just cruising through this thread and momentarily interloping!
Tom, I'm rooting for you to win a game on your upcoming cruise. Soooo close last time!
Debra :)
Really...how much time, ship to YVR?
in Canada (Alaska/Pacific Coastal)
Posted
Our ship docks at 8 am on May 1. I'm looking at flights at 12 noon or 5:15.
Is 12 noon doable? I'm thinking no? Even though Carnival says don't book a flight before 11 am if you use their transfer service?
Thoughts, please. Thanks!
