What a fab revue! Thank you.
You have a beautiful/handsome family.:)

Lovely family!
Thank you for your report.

Statendam 1978, Miami down to Aruba then back to Granada. Martinique. St Kitts and St Thomas, 10 days in March. Gorgeous.

Being addicted to Lapsang Souchong's smokey aroma/flavor, I have always brought my own supply, but I have noted more and more comments from others about the cheap water-staining bags available. I suppose general dumbing-down and cost-cutting is an ongoing problem across the board.
i too take my own Lapsang Souchong bags and Twining's green tea.
After dinner, have always had a kettle of boiling water available in the dining room. There isn't much access to boiling water in any other venue.
Some of the tea bags served on ship look as though they are made up of floor sweepings, just dust.

'Bye, beautiful Ryndam; sailing out of our lives forever.
Bon Voyage always, wherever and whoever you are. xx

Whatever lol Like we have never run into that before with private guides:D I think it is just hard for US citizens to understand what a neat place Cuba is and that for the last 10-15 yrs we have enjoyed Cuba for what it is. Not sure that we would go back if it was opened to the US market as it may have lost it's charm.
Did you see the editorial cartoon in this week end's Globe and Mail? LoL:p

You definitely did not have to hang out with any particular crowd to smell it. Then or now. That's some kind of backhanded inference that those who know the smell hung out with the wrong crowd.
Quite.
-
;) Believe it. :D
Not all of us hung around with the crowd that was into late 60's 'action'.
I said "Early 60's"
Are you saying that the "Crowd" at American universities never smoked?:)
-
Most who fit HAL demographics, don't have to ask that question. We "came of age" in the 60's!
Exactly! That is what I was saying:)

What I want to know is how do you know what marijuana smells like? ;)
I am 75 years old. I was in medical school in the UK in the late 50's early 60's.
I find it quite difficult to believe that some people do not know what marijuana
smells like;)

Yes we will continue to sail with HAL ; balcony smoking permitted of course.:D

Houp Oranje! For the cup:D

I recall being singled out as a tourist in Papua New Guinea by a friendly native who commented "We don't see many whiteys here."
Scott & Karen
LOVE this:D

I am a resident "Alien" and carry a "Green" card. I also need my valid Canadian passport with me at all times when re.entering the USA.
Even on closed loop trips, all foreign passport holders are required to meet with immigration officers before the ship can clear. I am required to have both pieces of officialdom with me. No exceptions.
-
Not just passengers, crews officers and servers need additional training about how to treat Special guests. For example;
The ship kept hitting those bumps in the water when we were getting some shut eye. The Captain should have steered into the wave troughs during sleep then got back on course when we were awake. We let corporate know that for next time. Simple retraining.
Food service came without a server and assistant to the suite. They must send the linen and silver serving, then the servers with a runner to keep food hot and served one course at a time. They even came without a crumb remover, seriously.

What time does the Queen leave?

No opinion should be discounted - either good or bad. The poster is taking the time to post their own experience, and as such it should be respected. Not denied, or followed with such statements as "I will find out the true facts" or some-such, as if it is not to be believed. It is ill-mannered to imply that anyone would come on here to lie. Just take it at face value, and if it's a bad review, thank your stars you had a better experience. When someone has had a bad cruise experience, no one cares how many days you have cruised, what kind of cabin you book, or how many crew and officers to claim to know personally.
Applause:D
Well said.

HAL Ship in Havana Harbor?

Tee hee, exactly.
Cuba has been a great tourist destination for years for the rest of the world.
Just hope that this reconciliation does not ruin this beautiful island with their Starbucks, Walmarts etc.
