  1. Hey there - I've got a couple of pairs of Keens for hiking in the Pacific NW, and they're great. This style is waterproof.

I just bought a similiar pair of waterproof shoes. Columbia is the brand name. I was able to order them online at Kohls.com. They fit great. Ordered a 1/2 size larger then I wear since some of the reviews suggested to do that. They are comfortable too.

  2. We have been on Carnival, NCL and Royal. We just did a Carnival cruise a few months ago because Royal did not go to a few islands we wanted to see. The itinery Carnival had was nice. The Carnival ship we were on did not have a lot to do. Their Lido deck buffet for dinner was terrible. The dining room was good. Their Prime Steakhouse was excellent. Our NCL cruise was years ago. We had fun. Maybe in the near future we will cruise them again. For now though we will stick with Royal.

  3. We were on the Magic in March 2017. It went to Grand Turk, San Juan, St Thomas and Amber Cove. We had not been on Carnival in years. We are diamond on Royal and Royal did not have a cruise to Grand Turk. We also looked at the Sunshine, but read the reviews. Felt that the Magic was more up to date. We enjoyed the ports as we had never been to Grand Turk or Amber Cove. The ship was in good condition. The food was good.

  4. Also this tour does not go around the whole Island. Once we got back to the ship we went up top to look over and see just where we were on the island. I was disappointed to see that we did not go too far away from where we docked for the day.

  5. I was on this excursion last week. The vehicles they have to drive are red 2 seater golf carts that look like a Hummer. Vehicles are cute and fun. Tour was ok. We drove past the John Glenn capsule. Drove to a beach where the water is blue and then you see the water as dark blue. The dark blue is where the depth begins at 7200 ft.. Stopped at an area so the guide could show us some fish. Was not thrilled with this stop. I thought we would be stopping at a store or some type of business. Instead it was an area where we all parked our vehicles. Walked up a dirt road to an area where they had a bench with different kinds of fish in it. They told us about the fish and we could hold them if we wanted to. I did not hold any. A few people held some then they did not have any place to wash their hands. We also stopped along the way at an area that had restrooms and a restaurant. Had 20 minutes to walk around and explore on our own. Locals had tables set up selling items. On that part of the island we were at they had several ponds of sea salt. The odor was not pleasant. We did stop at one of them. They told us about the sea salt and its benefits.

  6. The tea is horrible...we use the Lipton bags and brew our own lol...we just got off the Elation today and yep we brewed our own tea! :D

I agree about the tea being horrible. Great idea to brew your own tea. I will have to do that when we cruise next March.

  7. We were on the Anthem a few weeks ago. In the evening we were hungry for some potato chips or chocolate chip cookies. I called room service. They said they did not have any potato chips, but could send up some chocolate chip cookies in about 30-40 minutes. They arrived within 10 minutes and the cookies were warm and delicious. Only problem was towards the end of the cruise we could not get anymore. They must have ran out of them.

  8. Other stuff....

We had the internet package. Service was very good. We were able to I message and Facetime with our kids without any issue. Wife was able to browse and post to the F social media site without issue.

Guest Services is always packed. Lines are long and slow. Luckily we only went once.

Random places to stop and get food, pastries and coffees: Sorentos pizza, La Patteserie and the shop. All very good.

    Motion of the boat:

Night one, we were rocking while most people were asleep. I wake up every hour for some unknown reason so when I did wake up....we were really rocking. Luckily, wife was sleeping cause she would of been sick from it I'm sure. Rest of the trip was super smooth. Keep in mind it was really windy that first night.

We actually played some trivia while at one of the bars, and won two RC backpacks. Fun to win.....not sure we will ever use the backpacks though.

We missed our meet up from CC. We got into some drinks and conversations and unfortunately missed the planned sail away with them. Regret that.

    Solarium:

Loved this place. Although 18 and up....quite a few times we saw kids in there. Never in pools or hot tubs. Always well behaved. By the end of the trip, didn't see any kids in there.

    Drinks:

So many great drinks. Schooner bar try the Tom Collins. tastes like lemonade. made with Vodka. Music Hall try the Big red. Yup, tastes like the gum. We tried a ton of different drinks. Most very delicious.

    Bionic Bar:

Zzzzzz. We got one drink there. Worst tasting on the whole trip. Took awhile to get. I pads weren't working quite often. Never went back.

Bally01, I was on this cruise also. Glad your internet package worked well. We were on deck 10 and our internet was horrible. Guess it just depends where you are on the ship to make it work right.

  9. We just did this cruise we were a group of Three,Two and Two and stayed at the Embassy Suites Great breakfast and a free cocktail hour in the evening. We got a two bedroom suite. One room had two queen beds the other room had a king and the living room had a pull out queen couch. Was a good price splitting it. A store around the corner and a very nice beach.

We did this cruise last year and also stayed at the Embassy suites. The breakfast is delicious . The free drinks are nice too. There is an Outback Steakhouse inside this hotel. They also have a casino. Its smaller, but nice.
