  1. Hi Ashley, thanks so much for taking the time to post your beautiful pictures and for sharing your experiences on the cruise!! Question for you please - I love the picture of Oia from the ship as it's lighting up for the night. Did you get a picture of the sunset from the ship, or did you get to see it from the ship? We're debating on going back to the ship for dinner and the sunset instead of battling the crowds - thoughts?

  2. I just won my bid 60 days before we sail at the end of May. The cruise is almost sold out and I think they wanted my Oceanview balcony cabin since it might be easier to sell than the Junior Suite I was upgraded to. Most of the inventory available to book are Junior Suites, everything else is waitlisted.

  3. Thank you for this review and I'm so glad it got pushed back up to the top. We're sailing the same itinerary in May on the Odyssey. Could you please tell me more about The Key onboard - did it provide special time slots for iFly and for the North Star? How/when did you go about booking those? Did The Key help any with bumper cars or the Flowrider, etc? Thanks again!!

  4. Yes it was worth it to us. But has most have mentioned, we bought The Key when it was only a couple of dollars more than the internet. We bought it last year when it was around $20 and the internet was $18 per person per night. This year we purchased The Key again when it was $28 per person and the internet was $20. We'll be tendering in Mykonos and Santorini, so the priority tendering is definitely worth the extra amount of money. Plus we enjoyed the embarkation lunch last year - it was very good and a nice, relaxing way to begin the cruise. We didn't get to experience the departure breakfast (because we had to disembark super early), or other amenities on the last cruise, but still felt like we got our money's worth.

I have seen Simeon be really crude and vulgar but someone must have spoken to him…I, too, enjoyed him on Wonder.  In fact, we went more than once.

Simeon is great! Any idea if he's still on the Wonder? I'm guessing no since I haven't seen him listed on the most current entertainment schedules. I think he was an Assistant Cruise Director when we first saw him and he was always funnier than the comedians he was introducing us to.

Someone posted this in a Facebook group. It’s the schedule from the current week. When we get on I’ll check if they have one for our week to see any differences.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!! Your blog makes me so happy, thank you for doing this!!! I'll be boarding the ship after you disembark on May 29, so I'm really looking forward to hearing all about your cruise. Hope you have a WONDERful time and safe travels!!

Well, that will be it from me for this trip. Thank you so much to everyone who was along for the ride and who reacted or commented on my posts. It was my first time doing a live review and I found it a great way to sit down and enjoy doing (almost) nothing, which is something I usually struggle with. It was a very special trip and part of this came from sharing my experience with you.

Since this review was a bit all over the place (it was basically just my train of thoughts), would you be interested in me doing a summary of what I thought regarding my stateroom, the food, the entertainment, etc?

Also, if you have questions, don't hesitate to send them my way. It would be a nice distraction

Ummm, Yes, Please (on the summary if you have the time and energy)! Either the summary or hop on another cruise and let us live vicariously through your awesome writing!! 😉😊  Thanks again for taking the time to share your transatlantic with us!!

An extra big thank you to those who have commented on my writing. This isn’t something I do regularly (or at all, really), especially in English, so it makes me very happy that you enjoy my style.

What? How did I miss that your first language isn't English?? Your trip report is amazing and there are MANY of us enjoying it - obviously!! Thank you so much for taking the time to post all of these details - they are helpful to many in many different ways!

The only question I can come up with for you (because you've been so informative) is have you heard who the next Cruise Director will be after Mike? I've read that he's leaving the Wonder after this cruise. Have your sleuthing skills uncovered the next Cruise Director?

Got an official invite today, but the link to reserve doesn't work

Congratulations!! Which ship did you get an invite for?

edited to add: I may have answered my own question by going back several posts. Are you going on the Allure test cruise?

My experience with wifi on cruises not only does it matter on the ship but the weather makes a huge impact too.     When you were on Freedom sailing was that when the tropical storm was in the Caribbean and came up the east coast?

The tropical storm was a few days away, but we had beautiful/perfect weather. (Calm before the storm?  🙂 )

  11. I've always purchased the Surf & Stream on the Oasis class of ships and have thought it worked well. My last cruise, however, I only purchased the Surf plan and was not happy with it. I was on Freedom of the Seas with maybe 30% occupancy and the wifi was slooooow (when it would work for me). I don't know if it was the ship or the Surf plan, but when I got home, I upgraded my next cruise to include the Surf & Stream plan. That's my two cents worth and I only use the wifi for checking emails and Instagram usually.   🙂

I've seen/heard there is some sort of digital menu/TV with bluetooth connectivity so you can play your music. Is this true and I then would guess the cabana has speakers?

We just returned and the screen has a digital menu of different types of music you can select to play, or you can use bluetooth to play your own music. The cabana does have speakers that sound nice. The screen does not have TV,  but can be used to call your attendant or to place an order. Our attendants were always there when needed them though and we never even thought about having to call them.  🙂

The cabanas didn't feel too close together and we couldn't hear our neighbors. The cabana to our left did block our view a little to the left, but the view straight ahead and to the right was amazing!
