we used the iconcierge on our april trip on the gem.. we used it to message and it worked but the only problem was the sound it made when you received a text was like a little tap noise and was so hard to hear! maybe this can be adjusted or changed to a different sound. And sometimes (and this might just be my phone) I would have to reconnect to the wifi. All in all it worked but unless I was checking my phone .. I wouldn't know I had a message til much later!!

I have no advice but will be following this as I have a 14 year old daughter and have many times thought about this!!! Good Luck!!!

I haven't cruised in about a year and have some questions. Will be going on the Gem in april and we booked last march..so heres the questions..

We got the UBP when we booked, now that the price of the UBP went up will we be responsible for the difference in price?

Also, has the platinum dinner for two had any changes or extra charges been implemented in the last year?

I have no idea what is in it but its so delicious and tropical tasting...I tried it on the last night of ncl sun cruise and wished I would've tried it earlier in the week!!!

I jet got an email that if you book today or tomorrow (Jan. 1-2) you get an additional $100 onboard credit to go with the Freestyle Choice promo. It is really hard for me to justify not booking that Jan. 18th or Feb. 1st 12 night Southern Caribbean sailing on the BA. The prices are a steal, and I would be saving another $700-$800 on the UBP that I always buy. It would actually end up being far less expensive than the 7 night Florida Bahamas cruises that I just went on in November and December, and those ports are pretty awful.

All I want to know is Did you get the hat!!! LOLOL

Talking about future cruise certificate, does NCL still give out $100 OBC if you put a future cruise deposit while on board a NCL ship?

yes! we just did this! it cost $250 but they give you $100 back in on board credit

I never seem to book during a sale. Is the 10% sale one of those things where they bump the prices up the day before? I have a future cruises cert burning a hole in my pocket...lol

Ha! Yes, it was quite stormy on and off the boat that night. Actually work is piling up a bit and I may not make that December 14th cruise, which means there is a good possibility I would be on the January 4th one. If you see a 6'4" guy with a 3'4" miniature version of himself walking around, that would be me.

Just got off breakaway this morning and already cruise shopping. Just wondering if anyone has recent cabin photos of the sun that they would like to share? When looking for sun cabin photos I have come across some shabby pics but not sure when they were taken. I know the ship is older and we wouldn't be expecting "brand new" condition but don't want to be unpleasantly surprised.

What a shame!! We just came off of the Dawn from Tampa and that was our favorite port on that trip!!Glad its still on the Tampa run but sorry for the new Orleans people!!
