Thank you for all the helpful replies I will take them all into consideration.

First time cruiser and I was wondering if it would be worth buying OBC before embarkation? We do not have any credit cards so would it make it easier to pay for things on the ship with OBC verses the hold they would put on our debit card?
We aren't big drinkers, or gamblers so I was thinking maybe $100-$200 max. We already have excursions, tips, and specialty dining covered.
Thanks!

We (myself, husband, sister and her spouse) have decided we would like to do some sort of Dune Buggy excursion in Cozumel. We have narrowed it down to two options.
All-Terrain to Jade Caverns or off road adventure in San Gervasio Park with snorkeling at Playa Uvas beach club and lunch. They are both about the same price and length of excursion.
Jade Caverns is through Viator and San Gervasio is through shoreexcursiongroup if that matters.
I'd love feedback on either that might help us decide which one to pick.
TIA

My kids have the 3rd week of Feb and the third week of April off, but my husband (teacher) has 4th week of March off.

I also will be on the March 25th sailing - hi Chuck2810 and Maja651! - I was hoping to watch as we sail down the mississippi, but will it be dark?

Does anyone know if you can leave the park, get lunch on the ship, and then re-enter the park? Just curious if we should plan to eat there or on the ship.

Thanks everyone for clearing that up! I looked everywhere on the NCL site and couldn't find anything. We are so excited this is our first cruise!
-
Thank you, that makes sense for my husband and I but what about my sister and her husband - they have their own stateroom and booking number.

My husband & I selected the Specialty dining package on our upcoming cruise, as well as my sister and her husband who are in a different room.
When I make the reservations, how do I connect us all for 2 of the meals? We would like to do Cagney's and Teppenyaki together.

Is there anyone else that does the helmet scuba diving other than Seatrek?

Love the review We'll be on the Pearl in March. I'd love to see the dailies too.
Looking forward to eating at Cagney's, but I'm only 5' tall, sounds like I need to bring a pillow with me :)

Has anyone stayed at The Mercantile Hotel in NOLA? I'm with a group of 4 sailing Norwegian Pearl in March 2018.
-
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll keep researching for more specific excursions but that helps with which activities to focus on in each port.

I am planning a cruise for me, my husband, my sister, and her husband. We will be on the Pearl March 24 - April 1 2018, doing the Western Caribbean.
I would love to go cave tubing, and snorkeling, and maybe a little shopping. Any advise on which ports are best for each of these activities. I'd hate to plan snorkeling at one only to find out it's better at another.
Cozumel, Mexico (DAY 3)
Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras (DAY 4)
Harvest Caye, Belize (DAY 5)
Costa Maya, Mexico (DAY 6)

We are just getting started on planning a cruise for 2018, I turn 40 and it will be our 20th wedding anniversary. We are thinking maybe June or August. My husband does not like high heat and humidity, so I am thinking August is out. What is the weather like in June?

My sister and I will be in Maui in three weeks! She gets to see the whales in Seattle frequently but would love to swim with sea turtles, I wouldn't mind seeing a few whales as I'm in a landlocked state :)
Do we need to book a tour to be able to see the whales and turtles, or can we see them from the beaches?

So glad you are back, I am loving this review!

I love your review! Looks like a fun ship. I am just starting on planning our anniversary cruise Aug. 2013.
Which Dune Buggy Tour?
in Cozumel

Thanks for the tips.
I think we are going with the Jade Cavern because it seems like we would get more time in the vehicles given this excursion does not stop for lunch or snorkeling. Is this a fair assumption? How much time is driving vs. at the cavern?
I read some of the reviews and there were complains of the water at the cavern being filled with bat poop. Did you experience this?
Thanks
