  1. I think you mind more than your kids will. It's really not a big deal

    THIS! Lol it's a blue wristband...on a childs wrist. It's there for a reson.

I can't imagine what else people complain about if they complain about something so minuscule

  2. It didn't bother me until it started raining and was looking for a seat out of the rain. They didn't move anything off the seats they weren't using even when I was standing right there. I probably should have just picked up their stuff on the chairs and dumped it on the deck and sat down.

Pam I was on the same cruise and pretty sure I know who's you're talking about. lol. You should've talken their junk and dumped it On the deck!

  3. Ugh I hope this goes away before we sail this summer. A lot of other lines do this and my kids hate it as would I. No way would I want to wear a scratchy plastic bracelet 24/7 for a week.

But it's not "scratchy". It's like one of those bracelets when you go to an all inclusive. It's a great idea imo.

  4. Hi,

Does anyone have a picture looking down on the aft balconies on Royal princess as are worried people on deck 16 might see the balconies. We are in A738 and A739. Does anyone have any experience in these cabins or any pictures of the balcony? We can't work out the size of the balcony. Thanks

I don't have any pictures but was on the last leg of the Caribbean April 12-22nd and the aft cabin areas looked awesome. We could see them when exiting and entering the ship. Don't worry about privacy...you'll have it with these and the balconies are bigger. The ones that do not have a lot of privacy are directly under the sky walk. But then again people were not gawking at balconies below.

Enjoy your upcoming cruise!! The royal is a stunningly beautiful ship! I miss her...

  5. Thanks to all my CC friends....sounds like it won't be a problem. Plus we are doing a port intensive cruise, so people will be out and about......We have been to many of the ports, so we are going to convert a couple of ports into "sea" days!

That's exactly what we did and it was great! I too was worried about pool space prior to our trip but honestly there was a lot of room. By late morning though (on sea days) all lounge chairs right at the main and smaller pool were taken, however plenty of chairs on next deck above. we would often just hang out at the edge of the pool with a drink and chit chat with new friends and take a dip every once in a while.

Enjoy! The Royal is a BEAUTIFUL ship!

  6. The lack of pools on the a Royal is a major mistake, especially with a lot o families on board certain sailings. If you have children you have 1 pool area tu use, Good luck if that's you

We were just on the Royal with our kids and guess we got lucky. There were a total of 33 kids on board. Was perfect!

  7. The retreat pool at the front of the ship will be the place to go. Adults only, lots of loungers, and a bar nearby. We sailed both the Regal and Royal in the Caribbean this year and didn't have a problem finding a spot. The only down side is that it can be quite windy there at the front.

Actually during our sailing the adult pool in retreat area was always packed. We sailed with our 2 kids April 12th -22nd. Plenty of room to swim in main pool in the mornings but afternoon sea days could get quite busy in there. I much preferred the main pool even when my kids were in the kids club. More action, music etc.

  8. We have been on the Royal and the Regal during the Caribbean season and never had a problem using the pools to swim and cool off.

Pictures in my reviews are in the signature below. Hope they will be of help.:)

Thank you Mom33 for your reply! Great photos and they sure do help :)

  9. Thanks all so much for your feedback. We're good with MUTS and my kids are 4 and 6. I guess I was just concerned with the amount of passengers this ship takes and the pool area that so many have written about.

Looking forward to this much needed vacation and appreciate all your comments! :)

  10. Is the main pool area really THAT bad? We are travelling in April on Royal Princess (10 day Southern) with our 2 young children and have yet to read any real positive reviews about the pool areas. We've been other Princess ships and found the pools/area quite adequate. Looks like there is no aft pool on this ship either?? This is also the first time we are taking our kids on a cruise vacation.

Greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks all!

  11. If you read my post again I never said that spending more money means more enjoyment or that I needed to spend on everything I see. You put words in my mouth. I simply said that we enjoy our vacations without obsessing on ways we could do it cheaper. For instance, on time share vacations we never waste a half day of our valuable vacation time attending a sales presentation to receive "free" tickets to a show or some similar "reward". Our time is worth more than the tickets.

We eat at the restaurants that we love and not just ones we can find a coupon for.

I love to shop when we go on vacation but it is for brands I can't get at home------not just because something is on sale. Why buy something that doesn't really interest you just because it is on sale?

Staying at a hotel out in the boonies may be much cheaper, but you waste valuable time commuting to the places you want to be. Staying close by is less stressful and more productive timewise.

I'm with you on this one. LIke you, we also enjoy our vacations without obsessing on ways we could do it cheaper. I really do think its my DH's fault though---he lets me make all the bookings whether land or cruise!! :D

In all seriousness, to each their own I guess. To those of you that have the patience & time to find ways to save or get the most bang for your buck...all the power to you. That's just not me.

  12. I may tell my story...one of these days. But for now, I'd like to thank you all for sharing yours. Some very heartbreaking and others so heartwarming. Just amazing. You are all an inspiration and I wish each and every one of you and your families much love, health and happiness.

Congratulations to those that have overcome illness & my condolences to those that have lost someone so near and dear to them.

    God Bless.
