We went through same issue on MAJESTY last month. You will have to wait to board until the complete

inspection is finished. In fact, our sailing was delayed for one full day due to mechanical problems with life jackets and a few fire doors that did not completely close. RCL did provide compensation to us, but we did not board until

after 2 PM. So, you might want to plan accordingly....sorry.

We sailed X for the first time in March and I will not go back for quite a while. IMHO they cater to the elderly and I am frankly not there yet. I would agree with the other poster who noted that there is not any entertainment after the show as there is on RCCL. I am all for having a good time and I was in bed by 11 twice on X - not my expectations for cruising. We met 2 other couples who usually cruise RCCL and it was their first X cruise and they agreed that X was not for them either.

That being said we did have the aqua class room and thouroughly enjoyed dining in Blu. We were not able to enjoy the Persian Gardens as it was always full.

Is there a brand or type of coffee that is better to buy and bring back to the states?

Also wanted you all to know how lucky you are to have booked Gerry!!!! We were 4 ladies travelling and booked a tour with Gerry - spent the whole day with him and the time just flew by so quickly it wasn't even funny!!!!! He is just the best!!!!!

I think the bad post came from someone who did not get into a van with the real Gerry. I know that in other places there are imposters so my opinion is that this is what happened!!

Just returned and I must say that our best day was spent with Gerry!!!!:D :D He is such a nice man and a gentleman. We pretty much left our tour up to him. Spent 7 hours with him and wish we had had more time. He is so informative about the island and had many good ideas about what to do and where to go. We had lunch at Playa Bonita and WOW is all I can say. Gerry ate lunch with us and had some suggestions and it was wonderful..

I would highly recommend Gerry to anyone visiting Cozumel. I certainly look forward to visiting again and spending another day with him. Any questions feel free to ask!!

Just wanted to give everyone an up-date. I guess my first e-mail went to e-mail heaven because Mike e-mailed me and was very apologetic but said he never got my first e-mail. We are all set with Gerry taking us around the island on next Fri.!!!! :D I will post when we get home.

I guess the reason the e-mails go to Mike is because although Gerry speaks excellent English he has a hard time writing it. Good for him because I can't even speak a second language!!

I also heard from Tom and he said he was going to call Gerry.

I haven't been able to get to sleep too early lately so I just stay up and fool around until I get tired! You too were up late,. Is that the norm for you??!!

I am going to step in here since I think I might have been one of the first CCers to spend a day with Gerry.

 

When you send an email it goes to a gentleman named Mike but he is in constant contact with Gerry. It sometimes takes him 2 - 3 days to reply but he will. When you send in an email tell them when and what ship you will be on and when you would like him to meet up with you. He will be there with a sign with your name on it ready to wisk you away. I brought along a map of Cozumel with me and knew a few places I wanted to see but along the way Gerry suggested other things we may like and explained many of the sights along the way. I cant wait to spend another day with him this coming Tuesday.

Yepp thats the addy directly to him. I normally sail with RCI, but have done a few others. There is not alot about Cozumel I dont know, so that kinda helps. :)

Do you suggest that we leave the tour up to him or are there some things we should not miss? We have never toured Cozumel before. Thanks again! What beach club are you "The Mayor" of?!

kenf333 - we live close to the beach. You sound so knowledgeable and when I saw a fellow cruiser from Jax I got very excited! Which line do you cruise - maybe someday we'll be on the same cruise? I have become a cruise addict and my husband is right after me!!!!

We are looking to hire a driver mid January - were you happy with Gerardo those who hired him?

They are having issues with their internet. I have not been able to access my savings coupons or my past history and although they apologized I was told there was nothing they could do about it presently. I would call C&A and sign up over the phone. Good luck.
