  1. In Boston the Harpoon Brewery is approximately 6 blocks from the port. Easily accessible by scooter from Black Falcon. Nice 45 minute tour, very industrial. Large bar area, tables, pretzels, gift shop. Goggle Harpoon Brewery. About 2 blocks further is a store front cafe called Lobster Roll. Decent.

Not your typical sightseeing but something enjoyable to do on the scooter and fills the day. Vicki

Not certain the last time you were in Boston, but I've been there in 2010, 2012, 2014 and was able to ride the HOHO Trolley with my scooter every time. Not all of the Trolleys have a lift and Trolleys with lifts don't stop everywhere along the route. However it's easily done. The important thing to note is to not purchase a ticket on board the cruise ship nor wait for the port day to get off the ship to purchase a ticket that morning. The OP really needs to contact the company in advance as they need to know a information up front as to date and time of arrival. Here's the link https://www.trolleytours.com/boston/accessibility-services

To OP - Betty's information regarding the other ports is exactly what I would have said.

  3. Contact Gerard at gerardblewis@hotmail.com. He has accessible vehicles. You meet him outside the vendor area, so a bit of a walk to get to any transportation. He has ramped, as well as lift vehicles. Do not forget the b in the address!

Since he is private, you might inquire about a little scenery ride as well with some history as Atlantis is a 10-15 ride at most. He is very knowledgeable and reliable. He does not combine groups.

Taking the Atlantis tour is bought at the main desk...bracelet. They set you up with the elevator and a guide, but you push the chair the entire time, inside and out....all flat, but about 45 minutes and a small group. Quite a bit of walking if you do both ends.

There is also a ramp that goes down to the Marina shopping complex....left side outside past the staircase 1/2 way down. Pretty, eateries and shops.

With the DIG, tour, a little casino, shops inside and Marina area, 4 hours go fast if she is up to it all. Enjoy.

  4. My husband enjoys an alcoholic drink, but he is not, and has never been a big drinker. He rarely drinks during the week, and really only drinks socially. He drinks even less these days as he did notice that if he does drink alcohol or caffeine, he is more likely to wet the bed. That said, his bedwetting occurs whether or not he has consumed alcohol.

In relation to his spinal stenosis, he has stenosis and arthritis in the L4 and L5 lumbar vertebrae. He had an laminectomy performed on the L5 about 3 years The neurosurgeon who performed the operation was the person who suggested to my husband that the stenosis and sleep apnea may have been the cause of his bedwetting. Since the operation there has been some improvement to the frequency of bedwetting occurances, but it hasn’t stopped.

  5. Absolutely loved the early morning promenade deck walk. I felt I was there, hearing the ocean. It brought back many fond walk memories as also my favorite thing to do. Just thought you would like to know that others enjoy and appreciate your unusual videos of sounds and unusual things. Enjoying this review. Vicki

  6. Forgot to mention, the ship in Halifax docks at Pier 21 or 22. At Pier 21 there is a nice inside shopping area. Right by the front entrance is a sign for the Pier 21 Museum. At a small desk. You can easily miss it. It's the immigration museum of Canada. This is wonderful on a rainy, cold day. It's a nice display of old luggage, stuffed animals, dolls, etc, a short movie of a family coming in to Canada and various other sites. Loved it and I usually don't like museums. The Farmers Market up a little ways on the right before the Harbor Walk entrance is worth a visit too. The Titanic demo in the museum is about 3/4 mile up on the Harbor Walk. Interesting, but Titanic items scarce. Lots to do in Halifax. Just the weather varies so plan accordingly. V.

  7. The Regal Princess uses a tender for Newport and Bar Harbor, but the ship has an accessible lift for scooters to it....a little hairy as the platform works similar to a chair lift for stairs, going down 12 steps while on the scooter..but does the job and gets you on the tender. In Bar Harbor, a steep hill to go up, in Newport, no problem.

In Boston, there is a nice brewery that is about 4 blocks away called Harpoon Brewery, accessible, $5 tour and enjoyable. Goggle it. One block after, a small Lobster Roll place.

In Saint John, there's a shopping tent, and a lobster testaurant called Steamers across the street. If you desire to go to The Market and avoid the steep hill, make the first left, to the vendor area instead of going straight. Ask the vendor to show you the accessible entrance for the pedestrian mall. Enter and there is a ramp by the leather shop to main floor. Then find the elevator and transverse the next level...interesting shops. The market is the third level of the complex...using accessible elevators all the way. It's challenging, but fun with lots of people, stores and eateries.

In Halifax, the Harbor Walk ends, about 1.3 miles and the tall building is a casino by the hotel. It's the Casino of Nova Scotia...playing in Canadian dollars. Nice, safe and fun. Very accessible. The Harbor WAlk winds, you can scoot to the sidewalk, 1 block over and go straight to hit it also. About 1.5 miles from port.

Take a look at the Port section on CC, lots of ideas. A fun cruise, great ship. V.

  9. The museum on the hill at the Dockyard might be interesting enough to a teen. Lots of war memorabilia, cannons, but also Bermuda history and great scenic photo spot on top of hill of ship. Entrance on side of Snorkel Park area. Just ask. About $12. Also allows you into dolphin area at hottom but museum is on top of hill....nice little hike,

  10. Yes, scooters can go on the St. George ferry, but be aware of a few things. In St. George's the walkways have a slight tilt to them at times. Not evident when walking, but you will feel it on a scooter. Be careful....also bumpy in places. Also returning on the ferry, the tide changes and can be rather steep to get back on with the scooter. They will help you, but can be scary.

  11. Wrist bands are purchased for $5 each at Guest Services. Good to get in room, casino slot, purchase drinks or shops. Still need card to get on/off ship. Just a novelty.

Make all specialty reservations early online. Good deals online. Can be changed once onboard and your better price holds. Book 3 shows.."Rock", "Gift" and "Spectre". Definitely book "North Star, IFly". Family may enjoy Escape Room...(a 1 hour group of 12 puzzle in a locked room). Book online or go directly on ship to Seaplex area desk to book. It's challenging, age 16 up. For all. Not easy.

Dinner...fixed either 6 pm or 8:30 pm, always same table, same diningroom OR Anytime. Personally know fixed 6 pm is best suited to do all. Can juggle specialty on nights when not much going on......being that there are 3 big shows, some nights no main entertainment, but plenty around the ship. READ.

Reserve specialties....Wonderland...a flavor, presentation unique experience. Let your waiter do his thing.

Steakhouse...good but slow service at times

Jaimie's...wonderful ...order planks...not your normal Italian.

Izumi...try it for lunch, Michael's another good lunch special.

    Above all pricey..use online specials.

Recommend Solarium Bistro for quick breakfast, lunch....both limited buffet style. For dinner it is free but reservations only. You choose entree, served. Salad, appetizer bar buffet. Nice change.

  12. Last try on Anthem, (December) with a mid-full size scooter, the angle (lip) getting off the ship was too high and even if lifted, looked steep to navigate. Advised against getting off. On RC ships Labadee is totally accessible for all motarized w/c's and is a " walkto" pier, no tender. Shaded areas and paths at beach area all fine. V.

  13. We have done this on Anthem. They have you meet in theatre, first groups off. It's 1 hour 10 minutes to Disney, and Universal. You get 6 hours from parking lot to return. Disney is transportation center. Buses there for other than Magic Kingdom or Epcot. Allowed only 1 entrance to a park. MK & Epcot monorail. Have your schedule mapped out. It is what it is. 6 hours...really 5 as allowing for transport there and back to proper park. Generally a few buses so sime leeway as to time. We took last bus back due to scooter lift (only one bus) and arrived back 9 pm. No way do they leave at 12:30 upon docking.

Yes, expensive but doable, safe and a visit.

Have done Kennedy Space Center also. Interesting, about 25 minute ride and planned out nicely. Do not do on own...you need a guide throughout day with you. Vicki
