  1. Oh, I'm very jealous of you right now! lol

Thank you, that is what I was thinking of doing. Where are you staying in Anchorage? Please do let me know how your trip went and if there are any tips for me when you return!

Have an absolutely wonderful cruise!! What ship are you going on?

    Travel safe!

We stayed at the LakeFront Anchorage Hotel. It was one mile from the airport and beautiful scenery. We walked the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail from Lyn Ary Park towards Kindcaid Park it was 7.7 miles one way. Gorgeous and we even saw a Moose on the trail.

We are boarding the Alaska Railroad right now. We chose The Goldstar Service and here is a picture of the dome car on the train 388ee5eff1cfb0df3a0e265e3fca131c.jpg

  2. A friend of ours who is also on this ship with us said that he saw that there was location at the port where you could store your luggage, not sure on the cost.

Yes. You can store your luggage at Canada Place and for a few of $40 (up to four pieces of luggage) they will ship it right to the airport for you so you don’t have to go back for it later.

  3. Leaving for Southbound Alaska cruise in a couple weeks and we have a few hours to kill before we have to be at the airport for our 5pm international flight.

I've tried doing many searching on different areas of the forums for my answers, but I can't seem to find them and when I tried calling RCI directly they couldn't seem to answer my questions either so I thought I'd ask them here.

The RCI Vancouver Hop-On Hop-Off Highlights Tour shows the duration being 3 hours in length and is $71/adult. In the description is states that it includes the fare to the airport via the rail which from what I understand isn't all that expensive anyway. Also in the description (and this is where my question comes in) it says "Store your luggage with the onsite company" so that leads me to think that storage fees are included in the price of the tour no? Also if it is included does that mean they would be able to transfer to the airport as well?

When I called RCI directly about this question the person on the phone said that my luggage would stay on the bus, which i tried to explain to him didn't make sense, since it was a HOHO tour we wouldn't be on the same bus and it's not an direct airport transfer tour. Needless to say I don't feel like they were going to give me any concrete information that I would depend on.

Lastly if anyone knows what tour company RCI uses for this sure excursion would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at outside companies to not book directly with cruise line, but if this price does include the tour, the luggage storage and transfer it may not be such a bad idea since I'm reading that at CDS the luggage transfer is $40.

Thank you for any information :)

  4. Sorry to hear you have to skip it. On the plus side, your relatively short flight home at 5:15 is a lot more appealing than my red eye with an early morning layover to get all the way back to Orlando. Thanks for sharing the luggage info.

Yes. Agreed. We are thinking of doing the shorter sight seeing one with airport transfer or maybe looking into doing our own thing. I better come up with something soon though [emoji4] 20 more days until the cruise! [emoji1360]

  5. OK So I won't be able to do the Sea to Sky tour because I had a brain fart and forgot that since we are flying from Vancouver our flight is considered international not domestic (we are flying into San Francisco) and unfortunately the tour can only accommodate flights after 6pm for international departures.

But I did call and ask about the luggage, the gentleman on the phone said that the luggage is on the shuttle the entire length of the tour and follows you to the airport.

Enjoy everyone that is going on this, sadly we won't be making it. :(

  6. I think I’ll call and ask the cruise line directly because I’m a little hesitant to book because our flight leaves at 5:09pm even though the website says it’s fine for flights after 5 I don’t know if that’s TOO close to 5. I’ll ask about the luggage when I call and let you know.

  7. We get into Vancouver on Friday June 1 and our flight doesn't depart until 5:15pm, per the cruise planner on RCL it looks like we are eligible to take the post cruise Sea and Sky Experience and Shannon Falls tour that includes an airport transfer.

My question is has anyone done this before? Worth it? Or just find somewhere to store the luggage and walk around ourselves?

    TIA

  8. My husband and I will be sailing May 25 on RCL and have reserved a car for Skagway as we wanted to drive to see Emerald Lake without the pricey tours. We are early 30s and really enjoy day hikes and we are wondering if anyone could recommend any great places to stop and catch a trail either after Emerald Lake or on the way back, close by etc.

Also if any other suggestions for must see pit stops would be welcomed too

    Thanks in advance :)

  9. - In general, pack much less than you expect to need. You really don't need much on a cruise.

Agree! I try this each time! Although, Alaska packing is challenging!

I completely agree with this. We leave for Alaska next month and I feel like I need to start packing now to make sure we have enough layers etc. not the typical shorts and bathing suits I’m use to packing. [emoji4]

  10. I believe if the Spa Suite isn't available then it must be sold out for your sailing that you are looking at. The option was available for the cruise we just booked on the Breeze for Jan 2020, so my best assumption is that the category is sold out as I believe there are only 4 Spa Suites available on the ship.

Regular suites do not give complimentary access to the spa amenities.

    Happy cruising!

  11. Hi There,

My husband and I will be traveling on RCL Radiance May 2018 to Alaska. I was looking at the helicopter tours and was wondering if other paxs have done either of these and which port of call they would recommend Juneau or Skagway.

    Thanks so much!
