  1. Hi all,

We are looking at cruising on the Splendor in an inside cabin on Deck 7.

Looking at the Deck plans there appears to be a void area behind the cabins which I believe could be a crew highway.

Has anyone stayed in one of these type cabins before and was there any noise that was of a concern.

We did an inside cabins many years ago on the Pacific Sun and the noise all night from the crew highway behind was terrible.

    Any feedback appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Hi everyone

We are from the Gold Coast Queensland Australia and will be cruising from Sydney to Seattle in April 2018. We will staying in the California Coastal/Pacific Northwest for around 5 months.

We are looking at staying longer term in places so that we can really absorb the American lifestyles and not be a tourist but travellers.

We do intend doing an Alaskan cruise whilst there and probably spend about a month up in Vancouver Canada, but the rest of the time has yet to be decided. We are thinking around San Francisco might be nice but we are open to ideas.

We are seeking guidance from West Coast locals who can recommend places (ie suburbs/towns) to live short term but also places to avoid.

    Any assistance appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  3. Our 1st cruise on the "Pacific Sky" out of Brisbane to Noumea we had some really rough/choppy seas 5metres waves that were splashing as high as the Promenade deck. The crew had ropes along all the walkways and sick bags were everywhere. We loved it, did not get sea sick at all.

Our 2nd cruise on the "Pacific Star" out of Brisbane to Noumea we set off into the remnants of Cyclone Larry expecting rough seas again but we all we got was about 3m waves.

Our latest cruise on "Sapphire Princess" Feb16/2007 Auckland to Sydney we had the calmest seas we have ever seen. The whole cruise we didn't even feel like the ship was moving. Across the Tasman it was like being in a pond although we did get some heavy fog. The only point we felt the ship move was coming around Cape Howe on the south coast of NSW but only lasted about 1 hour.

The weather across the Tasman is unpredicable, basically pot luck. So hope you have a smooth sailing.

    Cheers

  4. My partner and myself are recently off the Sapphire Princess around NZ/Aust. He went down with a flu-like illness on arrival in Hobart and it hit me in Melbourne. About 80% of the group (16 people) we were hanging with came down with it too along with many other PAX before the end of the cruise. We spent our 1st weekend home in bed doing nothing but it took over a week before it cleared up completely.
