Congrats! I'm on the same cruise but my bids stil say pending. Cruise looks sold out online. Looking forward to a great time!
How do you see your bid status?

You can always have one child sleep in your mother's room without officially moving them there.
-
Thank You - I'll pack my own :D

Does NCL have stevia on the ships? Specifically the Star.
-
Thank you, everyone!

I will be on the Star June 25th leaving from Venice. What time can I get on the ship? I usually cruise from Florida and I can usually get on the ship around 10:30 - 11:00. Is it the same in Europe?

Yes. I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, and I'll enjoy every single drop. If it's all that terrible, I'll still appreciate the gesture, then go get some OJ!
I have the Drink Package, by my friend and I like to have a glass of wine in the room while getting dressed so this is great!

I did not read this whole thread, but I got the gist that all past cruisers get a bottle of sparkling wine? Is this correct?

Just wondering how much a single bottle of water is on the Star to compare how many bottles I think I'll drink to the cost of the water packages.
Thanks!

I don't gain too much and I have actually lost weight on a cruise just from all the walking I do. Take the stairs as much as you can, instead of the elevators.
I don't go wild with eating - I eat what I want, but I try to make good choices. I eat well for breakfast and dinner (omelettes for breakfast, chicken or salmon for dinner with extra veggies - but I still have dessert), but I indulge a bit at lunch - Reuben sandwiches, fries, etc.
I absolutely drink more in a cruise than in my normal life, but I do NOT have the sugary sweet drinks. I drink mostly wine, or vodka with club soda. I also enjoy some hard ciders.
You can go to the gym, or walk the desks for extra exercise.
I think you'll be surprised at how well you will do!

Florida law allows you to be dropped off at the cruise terminal by Uber but not picked up. On the way back to FLL we took a cab, a painful $90 back to the FLL airport.
After reading this I did some research and this is not true! I read many reports of people who were picked up at both the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami ports by Uber.

This is interesting - I had no idea and I was planning on using Uber to get to and from the port. Now I have to rethink this - hmmmm

After I use up 2 cruise credits its off to another cruise line for us!!!Because of lobster?

Are inflatable floats/rafts allowed in the public pools (the Dawn specifically)?
Nope - mostly because the pools are not that big - you'd be taking up half the pool with the raft.
-
If you make a reservation for 2 won't they block off 2 of your meals. I have the 4 meal package but I'm traveling alone so I want to make four 1 person reservations.
-
Pools: Also was not happy that the main pool area is Adults only till 5 pm.
Spice H2O is adult only, but the main pool area is too? Never heard that....
-
It's not the category of cabin - it's because the price of the beverage package has gone up so the gratuities have gone up.
It's possible that it is considered a new booking so you have to pay the gratuities on the new price.
-
So you cannot pre-pay the service charge if you are within 60 days of cruising?
-
One other helpful (I hope) thought - if you do get called to the "naughty room" explain your issues with walking and ask if someone could bring the bag to your room.
-
Great review - thanks for the solo studio point of view. I'm in a studio in June traveling with a singles group, though I am going on my own. I do know a few people in the group, but I usually travel with a friend even for singles cruises. Nice to know that the NCL singles lounge is the place to be in case I need more friends LOL

Has anyone taken Uber from a spot in Broward to the Miami port? Basically I live in southern Broward county and I don't want to park my car at the port and I have no other way to get there. Also how about calling for an Uber for the ride home?
-
Last reported it's been $0.79/min.
Thank You!

from GooglePlay App description: "*The Phone calling features are available on iPhone only. However, the Messenger feature is available on both iPhone and iPad."
ETA: Looks like that's just phone calling back home...not onboard
I see that it says Phone Calling with Family and Friends Back Home (Nominal Per Minute Fee During Cruise) Anyone know what that 'nominal fee' is?

We are left with copies to try to board the Escape on 4/16 in Miami. Will they let us on board???
We were able to board in NYC on the Quantum of the Seas in February 2015 with a copy. I feel NCL wants to be extremely difficult. It says plainly on the us government website that an original or copy will suffice, but when I call NCL they adamantly tell me I MUST have an original! Uhgggg...someone please help! [emoji30][emoji24][emoji30][emoji24][emoji30]
It says plainly on the NCL website that you must have the original document:
Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Or Canada & New England Cruises
For closed-loop sailings (cruises that depart from and return to the same U.S. port), you may sail with a valid passport, proof of citizenship and a valid government-issued photo I.D. (driver’s license with a photo), or any other valid WHTI compliant document.
Proof of Citizenship examples include:
State certified U.S. birth certificate
Original certificate of U.S. naturalization
Original certificate of U.S. citizenship
U.S. Consular report of your birth abroad
WHTI (Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative)-compliant documents include:
U.S. Passport Card
U.S./Canadian Enhanced Driver’s License
U.S. Passport
NEXUS/SENTRI card

I did do a search, but none of the answers were definitive so I'm asking again.
I have booked a tour in Mykonos through Viator - is it expected to tip the tour guide and if so, how much?
Thank You!
