  1. We will be on the Carnival Legend sailing Sept 26. I need to arrange transfer to the port from our hotel in Rome. We leave the port at 7pm. I was just assuming that boarding times would be around 11. However, I am hearing that times might not start till one. For those that have done this itinerary or similar, what times were available to choose for arrival? I have transfer company in place, as we have a group, but I don't want to get to port and have to wait around. We are platinum so we will be able to choose our arrival time at the 16 day mark so we should be able to get one of the first times offered. Thank you!

  3. It’s a lot to think about. We have a journeys cruise to Hawaii that we’ve been planning for a year now. Three cabins. Six people. Lots of logistics involved. Unless the airline or carnival cancels, we are going. We do have travel insurance. Carnivals new policy makes it easy to go either way. We are going ahead as planned for now.

We're going on our first in April - 10 nights on Carnival Spirit, Honolulu to Vancouver.  Did you do any kind of review for your Vancouver - Honolulu?  I'm going to check out your Breeze post right now.  We live on the beach in Cape Canaveral and I saw your ship coming in (from my bedroom slider) early Saturday morning.  It never gets old watching the ships come and go.

We are on this cruise too! So excited. 😁

  5. Yes it’s for the April Hawaii Cruise! Several months to go. But working on booking flights, hotels and wanted to have a clear understanding of the process. I’ll definitely check the port schedule. Always part of my cruising ritual. Helps me know how crazy the port/airport might be. We are actually flying home the day after we disembark. We can’t be in Vancouver and not do a little sightseeing before heading home. Looking forward to visiting your city!

  6. If we have a 1:05 flight from YVR to SeaTac on a Tuesday what time would you suggest we arrive at the airport? I’m also assuming from the above posts that we will clear customs and immigrations before departing YVR. We only have an hour layover in Seattle and I was afraid we wouldn’t have enough time for that process. Thank you in advance!

  7. I’ve planned several cruises with friend groups. I have a PVP with carnival that we used for years. However, now I use a friend that’s a travel agent. She is usually able to provide more onboard credit and sends gifts to the cabins. I haven’t cruised out of Jacksonville, but Port Canaveral is so easy. There are usually good deals on hotels that have shuttles available to take you to the port.  The conquest class is probably my favorite. I love the Freedom and the Liberty. Cruising is a great way for everyone to do their own excursions on port days and to re group on sea days and during dinner. We always have our reservations linked for dining. I also tell everyone our excursion plans, they’re welcome to join in if they wish. I usually email a list of excursions that are available and let them decide what they want to do with their day. It’s also a good idea to include a budget of some sort. Especially for first timers. Automatic gratuities, tipping guides and porters, room service, drink packages, etc.  A packing list would be helpful too.  Paying $20 for sunscreen isn’t fun! We usually have a dinner where we explore the ship online and talk through excursions, etc. it’s part of the fun! Remember it’s best to arrive the day before and always buy travel insurance! Happy cruising!

  8. So excited to find this thread! We are 99% sure we r booking April 2020. This is on my dads bucket list so trying to make it happen. I haven’t been able to find a lot of information about the ten day cruise. This will be our 16th cruise. Most on carnival. Looking at air b n bs they’re so much cheaper. Probably renting a car in most places. Love the reminder about Groupon. We went to Maui in 1997 for our honeymoon and loved it! Looking forward to visiting the other islands. There are 5 of us now but another family might be joining us. I’ll be the planner so it’s a lot of pressure! Keep the tips coming!

  9. Sounds like you really made the most of your time there! I grew up in Seattle but moved away 19 years ago, but we go back to visit often. We love Kerry Park...we call it Selfie Park. :) Alki Beach is fun, and the view back to the city from West Seattle is fantastic. My dad worked for Boeing, so I'd love to do their plant tour sometime when we're there. I think my kids are getting to an age now where they'd enjoy it.

We really enjoyed our time there! The weather was warm the days we were there but still better than Georgia in the summer!
