  1. We went from Anchorage to Denali Princess Lodge on Wed. 1/2 hr. delay on Parks Hwy. Many burned trees, some bldgs. & cars too. No smoke north of fire zone.

TWT 8 hr. tour into Nat. Park yesterday was great & good weather, minimal rain. We were lucky and saw lots of moose, caribou & 4 grizzlies. 2 caribou & 1 grizzly 20 yds. from bus. Camera with optical zoom helpful. Bus video great too.

    Another Princess IT dept wonder.

    What???

    What does that mean?

We are in Mini-Suite Stateroom A230, Category MB

    Anytime Dining requested

    Anytime Dining is confirmed

    .....but it also has:

    Dining Requested: Club Class
    Dining Confirmed: Club Class

???? What does all this mean?

Is it still Anytime Dining, but

"An exclusive area of the Main Dining Room featuring expedited seating with no wait."

..." You'll also enjoy expanded menu options, dedicated waitstaff, uniquely styled decor, table-side preparation and more!"

..." Enjoy even more delicious dining with options offered expressly to Club Class Mini-Suite and Suite guests. "

Even though we are Category MB ??

  3. We've booked a helicopter glacier excursion. Our 2nd choice would be a whale watching excursion. My concern is that if the helicopter excursion is cancelled, would there be much of a problem booking a whale watch while ashore?

  4. We are going southbound from Whittier to Vancouver on the Royal Princess "Voyage of the Glaciers" cruise.

The Royal Afternoon Tea ($10 surcharge) sounds interesting. I do not mean the regular afternoon tea. This would be a skip lunch day. If it is on a formal night, this would be problematic. I think that northbound that it may indeed be on a formal night. Southbound ???

  5. It has been a few years since we sailed with Princess. We will be on Royal in August. In the past we would always share a coffee card.

Question #1. It looks like if we prepay for the coffee package, payment will be included with cruise balance. I would prefer to use my OBC. Can I/should I just wait and buy onboard?

#2. If I buy one package, and want to bring back 2 coffees to cabin from IC... is it a problem? I get up early, while DW likes to sleep in. We will not drink enough specialty coffees to justify the purchase of 2 packages. I am confused about sharing policy.

  7. We are seasoned mainstream Caribbean cruisers and this will be our first Regent Seven Seas cruise. It is also our first European (Western Med.)cruise. Extended flight time is also something that we have not experienced. (MCO-JFK-HRW-Nice, France). We live in FL and just usually drive to the ports.

We have pre-booked our excursions and initial restaurant reservations.

Any tips, advice or Explorer "secrets" would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  8. I really enjoyed Bert Stratton on 2 previous cruises.

Cruise in Oct. 2010 had "Barty" Brown. If you were 70+ and British, you'd love him. I'm not & could not stand him. Only had 1 martini in Crooner's as a result.

I'm waiting to hear from Princess entertainment who will be the entertainers for the 10/19/11 Emerald Princess cruise & will post here & on the roll call.
