  1. I've been to over 5 luaus over the years and majority of all the luaus are basically caddle herding feeding type. Interesting enough if you think about going to Sizzler, Hometown buffets restaurants and some wedding receptions are basically the same concept of herding/cattle feeding, but in a smaller scale....

Here is a link to some reviews Kalamaku:

Personally its not for us because of the cattle herding feeling, anywhere from 800 to 1000 will attend from the ship and they staggers the buses so that things don't get backed up. We prefer and more intimate show.

Here is a link for Smiths

As for Roberts Ohana you may have it wrong as I didn't see anything on their website nor could i find any review's and Ohana means immediate family. If wrong post some more info.

  2. It's basically simple. I've had it where I didn't make any reservations and basically got off plane and went to taxi pickup near street and got a taxi lemo without any problems. We had a party of 7. My friend was worried about making reservations prior to us landing and I said don't worry we can get a taxi without any problem. I was right and we didn't waste anytime what so ever. I told her it's vacation and don't worry, you're not at work(California) and just relax and get in the island mode and relax! lol

We are a party of six with about 6 large suitcases plus 6 small carryons plus purses. I think a limo service would be best. Does anyone have an suggestions as to whom to contact.
  3. Aqua Palms and Spa. Why because it's right across from Hawaiian Hilton and it's a block away from Wailana Coffee House. IHOP restaurant is at the Aqua. Both restaurants are not that expensive. Aqua is half the price of HHV and plus you can enjoy the ammenities and beach at the Hilton.

Well, I'm now trying to get a feeling for which hotels we would be interested in staying in. We would like to get opinions from others on where you stayed, whether you would go back to them again, and whether you felt it was worth the price.

We will only need a room for 2 nights and will probably be spending very little time in our room. We are budget conscious but, we not only do not want to stay in a dump we would like to make our stay in Waikiki feel like we're on a really nice vacation, hence something nice but not too pricey. I would also like something within a few blocks of the beach.

Not asking for much am I? lol Anyway, I would love to hear of your experiences and welcome all comments. The more properties I can get a feel for from previous guests the better to make an educated decision.

    Thanks all!

  4. Isn't that a coincidence. My first cruise was also on the Serenade on RCCL. Ever since I've been totally hooked and addicted.

What was your first cruise ship? What cruise line, the year and the itinerary? (if you remember;) ) Did it get you hooked?

Ours was Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's m/s Viking Serenade, a converted car ferry, back in NOV 1991, a 3-day L.A. - Catalina Island - Esenada, Mexico - L.A. cruise. Never forget our first impressions - we were hooked from that day on!

  5. My son 8 at the time was getting some food at lunch buffet near the Pool area when an middle aged woman crowded in front of him and caused him to lose his balance and the Plate fell on the lady's shoes and pant legs. My son felt embarassed and apologized but from looking at the lady's facial expression she wasn't too happy. We left after that and went to another section for lunch.
