  1. I haven't cruised since Covid began. I am on the Equinox sailing on March 18th. I know there have been lots of changes. Can anyone give me a run down on the process at Fort Lauderdale. I have been assigned a check in time window; info on picture, room key card? Is the process shortened?

  2. I recently read about the ban on cruise ships sailing through the Venice canals to the traditional docking location. Ships now are required to dock far from the city. I

am on the Sirena visiting Venice next April. Since the Sirena is a smaller ship, does anyone know if she will be allowed to dock inside Venice?

  3. I am thinking about booking a cruise for next July. The deal includes a few days in port at the beginning of the cruise as well as round trip air. It is a good

deal. I need to decide quickly. Can anyone give me a run down on the cruise cancellation policy. Is it OK to cancel up to 48 hours prior to the cruise and

    fill refund is made?

  4. Hi,  I have FCC valued at $5300 which expires on 12/31/2021. I am looking at booking a cruise for October, 2021. The cruise cost will be $4200. What happens to the surplus FCC. Can I use it as OBC? Do I have to book a second cruise? Also, what are the cruise cancellation rules in this new pandemic world we live in?

  5. A Windstar newbie here. I am doing the Lovely Leewards 14 Day SJU-SJU departing Saturday, January 4, 2020.  I have a question regarding the water related equipment associated with the platform.

As an example, is there a sign-up sheet for the kayaks? Or, is availability based on first come, first served?

  6. A Windstar newbie here. I am doing the Lovely Leewards 14 Day SJU-SJU departing Saturday, January 4, 2020. Our stops include Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Les Saintes, Guadeloupe, Bequia, Saint Vincent And The Grenadines, Pigeon Island, St. Lucia, St. George's, Grenada, Vieques, Puerto Rico, Gustavia, St. Barthelemy, Little Bay, Montserrat, Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke, and Virgin Gorda, BVI. Can anyone tell me which ports are anchored versus docked? Also, what flotation equipment is available for individuals? Thank you.

  7. As I was reading this thread, I thought back to our river cruise this past May. We were on a 2 week cruise and wanted to see and experience inland Europe to the max. It was soooo easy to book excursions via that cruiseline's website.

We are cruising on the Quest in January. We have $1000 in OBC. The majority of that money will be used for excursions. It makes no sense that the website functionality we want is not there. It makes no sense that I have to involve my credit card. But, there are specific excursions I don't want to miss. The 2017 workaround has not been sanctioned for 2018. I feel trapped.

They have had months! There is no excuse!

  8. On October 7th, Bonnie posted on this thread that there would be some news or an update on this subject within a week of her posting. There has been numerous posts on this subject. There is no official Azamara workaround to use OBC for ship excursions for anyone cruising after 12/31/2017. There have been promises made! There are no results! Why can't the current workaround be extended for 2018 cruises until the capability to use OBC before a cruise to book excursions is put into place?

  9. A while back HAL was running an anniversary promotion involving receiving $400 OBC. It was described to be used for costs related to shore excursions. I think the promotion expired the end of June. I booked a New Zealand cruise on the Noordam next March. At the time I booked the cruise, I thought the OBC could be used for other ship expenses as well; read alcohol.

As I've aged the memory cells have been taking a hit. Can anyone help me here. Can the OBC be used for any shipboard costs????

  10. I am going on a family cruise in June on the Gem. There are 15 of us; 10 adults and 5 are children. In GSC, I know there are cabanas for rent. How many people can the large one hold? Are there cabana police there making sure you don't exceed the limit. Are there wrist bracelets (or something similar) that identifies you as a "cabana person"? Please provide any other info that could help us. Thanks for the answers!

  11. I just finished a wonderful 2 week Summit cruise to Maine and Canada. One minor negative was the bar snacks served. I have many questions about them: what is in the mix (I could identify an almond and cashew every so often), what is that awful outside coating on them and is there anyone out there who actually enjoys them? Your thoughts?
