  1. Thanks for replies.
So, if we use up our bar tab, would any drinks we buy in bars go on our cabin account. Then at the end of the cruise we can pay this extra off, using our loot and obc.
Wondering if it’s worth getting extra bar tab before we go, as it works out about $40 each per day, which would only cover 4 to 8 beers/cocktails or glasses of wine each day.

  2. Sailing this Sunday on Valiant Lady. Just checked app and see we’ve got 3 different add-ons. We knew about 2, but have another $100 onboard credit. Can someone give a summary of what each can be used for.

    $300 Sailor Loot

    $100 onboard credit

    $600 Bar Tab

Bar tab is fairly straightforward , but is there any difference in the other two.

    TIA.

  3. Hi, appreciate any suggestions.

We are looking at booking a RCL cruise in September. Our issue is that all flights to Scotland leave between 6 and 9pm.

Are there any places in New Jersey we could leave our luggage.  Was thinking about one of the large shopping malls to do some shopping and having a meal before heading to airport in late afternoon. Don’t want to head to Manhattan. Not sure if RCL do any tours that day. . There are four of us.

    Thanks.

  5. Just reading this in my hotel in Rome. Getting ready to board reflection in a few hours. Enraged is an understatement if this is the case. We were denied the free drinks package for 123go because we were from the uk. Went to purchase the package several months ago when the dollar/pound rate was 1.63, but then they changed it to 1.52 (I think it was), so we decided to wait till we get on board because the rate has gone back up towards the 1.60 mark. ( celebrity still using 1.52 to convert to pounds tho.). Really feel like telling them where to stick their package. The single dollar notes we had to give in tips will now probably go toward she increase!!!

  6. We also made a lot of advertising for Celebrity here in Germany in the past and I will definetly don´t do it again and will not cruise them again until they change their mind and treat every passenger in the same way w.r.t. their promotions.

Also other companies have nice new ships, especially the new NCL and Princess boats. Let´s try them!

    With you there Chrishb.

And to add more "insult to injury" they've upped the promotion for Captains Club members to all 3 options in the 123Go promotion for European sailings.

For anyone interested I've just had an email from my travel agent offering what seems a good deal. And they're offering free drinks package for UK residents - WOO WOO. Unfortunately I can't make use of it, but I won't be anyway as I'm on a boycott from now on. But looks like they are making up the rules as they go along.

  7. I think we will cancel our two booked cruises with Celebrity. We are really disappointed with them how they treat the international guests w.r.t the beverage package promotion. Being on a ship knowing that mostly all others enjoy their drinks in the frame of this promotion and being part of a minority who paid 1600$ for the drink package on a 18 days cruise does not make fun. We will not feel comfortable and welcomed and will always be reminded when being on board!

Add another (or 8) very unhappy cruisers to the list.

I have been raving to my friends how much they will enjoy celebrity, but now I am not looking forward to being onboard with others who have the free drinks package that we will have to pay for.

After the way we've been treated, I won't be booking another celebrity cruise.

It's not only myself, but I have previously recommended celebrity to a number of friends - you can bet I won't be recommending them again, and I'll be letting everyone I know how they have been operating.

Yes, I realise that not everyone in the US (and elsewhere) is able to get certain deals, but the cruise we are due to sail on has the promotion (but not for us). I know there will be numerous people with the free drink package on board.

    Aussie

I have considered the US TA angle, but we've already paid a deposit of £1200 (sterling), which we lose in full in the UK. We did have obc of $200, so taking into account what we are paying for the cruise, then I can see us saving about £200 per person if we had to cancel and rebook. Currently trying to figure it out if its going to be worth it - we've got 4 cabins together in a good location. Theres also the hassle of booking over the internet/telephone. I have done some digging about US TA's, but as no one on this site is able to post any recommendations, then it is a hit or a miss whether I'll be getting a good one or not. Hopefully on my next cruise I'll speak to fellow cruisers who will be able to give me some advice. As from now on we will not be booking in the UK again!!!!

  9. We want to offer our customers the best offer available, so existing bookings, including the Reserved or Open Passage bookings can convert to our current 123go offer, but will need to change their cruise price to prevailing rates (current pricing) and release any previous offers. Please call us to make the necessary changes to your booking, our staff will advise you of the current pricing and review the best offer for you. Remember time is limited, so call us today!

Nice to see that celebrity want to give their customers the best deal possible.

BUT NOT IF YOU RESIDE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.

We aren't being allowed this great promotion. So will be on a ship where a lot of the passengers have a free drink package. But we will need to purchase one at $550 per person.

    Lovely!!!!!!

  10. Jenna, I know how you feel, and everyone will say this is not how it works - its the staff that would be losing out, which is probably the case.

When I thought of the money we could have saved with the deal (8 of us already booked), I thought we would spend more money on special restaurants/ excursions / spa treatments - well this won't be happening. Celebrity will not be getting any more of my money.

  11. Missminnie and welshfamily I feel exactly as you do!!!! We're 8 people already booked for September out of Rome. Continually told its better to book early. Well not now. We in the uk are penalised at every turn and no one seems to bother - we just take it. My query is currently with my TA but expecting the same result. I think our cruise will be devalued due to the number of people on free drink packages, but if we want it will still need to pay the full whack!!!! Not a happy bunny at all.

Ps. Thanks for all the good work Host Andy.

  12. 4 adults (premium alc) and son (classic non-alc) just returned from Elclipse in the Med. Certainly got our moneys worth, compared to what we would have had to pay at the end of the cruise. No extra tax applied when in Spanish waters.

Normal day - fresh orange at breakfast / water to take ashore and cabin / few cokes/fantas during the day / special coffee in the afternoon (loved the iglu after being onshore). Beer or cider on deck in the afternoon. At 5pm men went for their g+ts and bloody marys and the ladies had a few sailaway cocktails (pina coladas/mudslides). A few vodkas or g+ts back to the room to get ready for dinner. Martini before dinner (guys serving are amazing). 2 or 3 glasses of wine with dinner. Few vodkas / g+t at the show, then a couple of nightcaps in the ensemble lounge.

Went to Qsine (which was fantasic!!!) and in there for 4 1/2 hours. Must have had about 5 or 6 glasses of wine - all included.

I like vodka and coke and prefer a can of coke. Only 2 people objected to me getting these 2 drinks at the same time - so we didn't go back to them, but everyone else was fine.

Our somellier at dinner was great, and most of the time you wouldn't even notice him refilling your glass.

We only found the molecular bar on our last night - maybe just as well as the cocktails were superb.

We never had to sign for anything, but several times items were charged to our account, but this was corrected no problem when pointed out to the staff at guest relations.

Our friends paid for the package beforehand, and had PALL written on them. We got ours when on board and a small sticker was added to the card.

Also, we didnt have a problem getting 4 drinks by 1 person if they had 4 cards.

It certainly added to our enjoyment - not worrying about what we were spending (the cocktails and wine didn;t take long to add up to our $56 daily cost).
