  1. Thank you for the nice review. I just got off the Grand on 9/23. I agree- She’s a pretty nice older ship but there are a few things that need to be upgraded. I loved the new mattress and thought the Princess@Sea app worked the best ever. It would be great if they could post the dining room menus. It would help us decide where we want to eat.

Thanks for posting and score on the upgrade.

  2. I wish they would. I like to cruise more often than the people who I normally cruise with so have cruised a couple times solo with Princess, but due to the single supplement, I am trying out other lines that are more solo friendly. Princess is my favorite line, but I am finding some of the other lines that cater more to solos are doing a good job and they are getting my $$$

  3. We asked our server as the tea was so good in the dining room. She told us it was Lipton tea bags. She said the secret was not to squeeze the bags. They are taught to just let them steep and take them out carefully. It was strong, but good. Not sweet unless you add sweetener.

  4. I’ve taken Amtrak several times into Emeryville and then taken the bus to the pier. It’s an easy walk with luggage as long as you can walk about 1/2 mile. It’s better if it’s not raining g but, I’ve done it in the rain and it wasn’t too bad. We just walked faster and the sidewalk was not as crowded.

  5. You'll Enjoy the Panama Canal cruise on the Coral. It’s a nice sized ship. Easy to get around and never feeling crowded. Having a balcony going through the Locke’s is a thrill.

We enjoyed the food in the dining room, buffet, and all the venues. Our room steward was great, and I have found most of them on Princess are attentive.

I’ve never been on Carnval but find the staff on Princess more attentive than on another line.

    Enjoy!

  6. I’ve cruised through the Panama Canal on the Coral and loved this ship. Perfect size. I shared a balcony with a friend, but I have taken other cruises solo. I think I would have been comfortable going solo on the Coral. Since you are with them for two weeks, the steward and staff get to know you pretty quickly if you show up for the various games and activities. I have a solo booked with NCL in May but it will be my first time with them. I have heard they cater to solos so it may come down to which one fits your needs. Either way, you will have a great time.

  7. I always get future cruise credits. Only once were they refunded as I didn't use them all. I did book once while on the ship. 8 of us had a fantastic Alaska RT cruise from San Francisco. While sitting on the deck on a sunny San Francisco morning, we called our travel agent and booked for a full transit of the Panama Canal. We had 8 months to look forward to our next cruise!

  8. Hello

You can use your room card or put in cash and your winnings will go on your account via your card. You decide how much you want to play with on a given machine and then transfer the amount back to your account. You can cash it out at the cashier. If you forget to cash out or transfer your money back to your account, they'll call your stateroom and remind you to come in and cash out.

    Enjoy your cruise!
