    Hi FabFam

How would you determine if you can "cruise safely in Nov."? There are many threads that touch on this, you will have to determine what is safe in your mind.

Looks like NCL has postponed their restart till Oct., we still don't know very much about anything here. Maybe the question still should be, Will there be cruises sailing in Nov.?

I know looking at the Carnival threads, it seems that it is almost expected that cruises will start in August and if they don't it will be because the company is trying to mislead the customers. Talk about putting blinders on! 😀

Hi Nic6318 - I am under no illusion that sailing will start in August. I'm putting the chances of the Nov cruise at about 50%. My husband thinks I'm being optimistic and lowered his percentage to 40% after the NCL announcement yesterday. 😞

No cruise (or vacation, or trip to the supermarket 🙂 ) is without risk. I agree that each individual needs to determine when they feel comfortable that it is safe enough to cruise again. For me personally, I will cruise in November if the sailing happens.

  2. I have the following booked: Carnival November 2020, Princess June 2021 and NCL 2022. I liked the offers that Princess and NCL were offering. I had my November 2020 cruise booked before COVID but have gotten a couple price drops even though it is a holiday cruise. I'm really hoping we can cruise safely in November!

Once we retire and aren't working around kid schedules, we will be looking at last minute deals.

  3. Southward was my first cruise. I remember thinking the ship was huge and beautiful! The service was unlike anything I ever experienced. I also remember how sea sick I was. The ship was moving so much I would run into the hall walls and they were handing out meclizine like candy. They had baskets of the motion meds on the customer service desk to grab and also in the infirmary. It took me many years to dare get on another ship after that experience but I'm so glad I did.

  4. I’m platinum for the first time on my June 15 sailing. My DH and I have a balcony and directly across the hall my 2 daughters ages 14 and 19 have an inside stateroom. My daughters are gold. What are the chances they will allow them to board priority with us?

    Thanks!

  5. Quick question for all you experienced cruisers. I turn platinum on my next sailing. My teen daughters are in a different cabin than I am and they are Gold. Does that mean when we sail only my husband (who is gold) and I will get priority boarding? Both cabins are linked in terms of the booking.

We were all in the same cabin but it is our anniversary so I talked my husband into booking them an inside cabin :-)

  6. I currently have 70 points and have an 8 day cruise booked. My booking shows that I'm gold but I know I'm only 5 days away from platinum. The terms say they "may" give those platinum benefits to me (see below) during this cruise. Would love to hear from others if they were able to get the higher benefits on their crossover cruise - especially priority boarding.

"Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event a Member books a Cruise in which such Member will attain the necessary VIFP Points to reach a new Level during or by the end of such Cruise (a “Crossover Cruise”), CCL may, in its sole discretion, offer such Member the Benefits offered to Members of the higher Level during the Crossover Cruise."

    Thanks!

  7. The April cruise sounds fun but we plan our cruises around our kids school schedules. Keep us in mind if you plan another one.

I always find it amazing how many people are caching from the ships with us. It us rare that you don't run into another cacher.

I wish I was on a geocaching cruise at this very moment instead of 8 months out from my next cruise.

  8. Well just join us on the Carnival Spirit Alaska Cruise out of Seattle in July. Right after Geowoodstock several cachers going and planning on picking up some caches. :D

If only we would had seen that before we went in June.

We have done GeoWoodstock before and had lots of fun - most geeks in a single location ever (okay - might not compare to the X Files convention we went to one year) - I must admit - my husband is the geek, not me :D
