  1. SHIP: Eclipse

    CABIN #: 2122

    DECK #: 12

    CLASS: Sky Suite (S2)

    AREA: Aft, Starboard

    BED NEAR: Bath

    QUIET?: Yes

    BALCONY VIEW: Good

BALCONY SIZE: Half-again as wide as standard

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Nice size cabin with lots of closet and drawer space.

Only 3 electrical outlets; 2 US and 1 Euro. Cabin was quiet, but I think if you move further aft you may get noise because you'll be under the main serving area of the Oceanview Cafe.

  2. Hi Everyone,

I'm currently on Eclipse ( St Thomas today) - having a great time. On this sailing, the Meet and Mingle was held on Monday at Cellar Masters 10:15 am. I would not assume it's the same for every sailing. As TommyD3 mentioned, I'd check with Guest Relations on Day 1 of the sailing.

No invite for us either, but as the registration process is all messed up, I wasn't expecting an invite. Hope this helps !

Were you originally scheduled for St. Thomas?

  3. We purchased very strong magnetic hooks from Amazon and tie a piece of twine between them and hang it in the shower high up and out of the way. It's very easy to pack (fits in a shoe with plenty of room to spare and works really well. We've used it on every cruise on S-class ships which have no pull across clothes line. If you have a lot of stuff to wash/dry you can hook up another set just as easily.

Can you provide more info on the hooks? Thanks.

  4. Greetings

We were on Equinox on the 06 November cruise and was able to get fresh lime margaritas without a problem. They always had squeezed lime juice in a container in the fridge. No, not the sour mix, real lime juice. Drank them the entire cruise.

    Good Sailing

    What bar? Any bar?

  5. I sent an email to

    CelebrityOneTouch@celebrity.com

I included ship name, sail date, last name and reservation number and received the following response:

Thank you for contacting Celebrity Cruises.

I am sorry you have encountered trouble while on our Celebrity website, particularly when trying to register for the Cruise Critic Connections Party. Our IT Department is aware of this situation and is working on an expedient resolution. In the meantime, I have emailed your request to the ship in order to have you and Mrs. added to the guest list for this event. Because of the technical issues surrounding the sign up for these get-togethers, our Event Coordinator has assured us that each sailing will have a Cruise Critic Connections Party, regardless of the number of interested participants. Registered guests will receive an invitation in their stateroom advising of the exact date, time, and location of the party.

    Sincerely,

  6. Fortunately, you can adjust the shower spray that is in the tub/shower combo. I also like you, do not like to overhead shower as I do not wash my hair everyday- Bad for my hair and scalp. You will be happy with the shower.

Thank you. I'm happy to have an answer from someone who's actually been in a suite.

  7. Sorry, but I'm not a troll. I'm a traveler, and I don't expect everything to be exactly like home when I travel.

Travelers help travelers; trolls offer criticism. You had nothing constructive to offer. Apparently you know little about women. So sad.

  8. Worth the extra hassle.

The bar set up isn't just expensive, its obscene. If I take the Baileys as an example. The bar set up price for a 1L bottle is $100, at present you can buy the same 1L bottle of Baileys for just £12.90 which is a touch under $20, even though this is a promo price and I could not take it on board, I'd rather take a few walks to the bar than be exploited by NCL to the tune of roughly $80, is it really worth it to avoid a little crowding. I've been on the Epic and it isn't quite that bad.

The bottle will still beat the price of individual drinks.

  9. I asked the question, after reading the written policy, because I know that on ship experience is often different from the policy so was just getting an idea about it from folks with more on board knowledge.

We certainly won't complain about anything as we are planning to enjoy our cruise!!

    Bottom line - most don't wear t-shirts.

It depends on the length of the cruise and itinerary for either line, but that does not always hold true.

I was on a 14 day Rotterdam last January and I was surprised at the number of families with young children on board.

I have been on a Princess cruise where I walked through the covered pool area everyday as it was the best route for the elevator closest to my cabin. Because the number of comatose elderly bodies on the lounges, I wondered if a pulse check was done by the deck staff throughout the day.

My husband and I are now in our upper 60's (me) and low 70's (him). However, we both started cruising regularly in our 20's so all our age proved is that we still enjoy cruising.

My daughter who is in her 30's loves both HAL and Princess.

I do the Zumba when on board Princess; no Zumba on HAL. There was an aerobic's class on the Rotterdam last January, but I didn't do it because it didn't fit into my schedule that I like to follow on board ship.

I don't think age has everything to do with the expected dress codes on board ship. I think it has more to with the targeted marketing demographic.

My perception is that the demographic is more educated, better traveled, and have higher incomes than the target for the entry level lines. HAL and Princess cruisers expect a different type of on board experience and the cruiselines try to provide that for their targeted demographic.
