Is there a possibility of getting a wheelchair just to use at the shopping area in Belize.

It did for us on the Dream. I was also able to actually talk to my daughter on Imessage.

We were not able to get a modified or handicapped cabin on an upcoming cruise. Is there any possibility of requesting a shower seat for the bathroom. Any experience anyone?

It seems as if there are no cruises scheduled for the Dream from January 29 until February 12, 2017. Is this a drydock? Are there upgrades scheduled? Trying to book a family cruise. Does anyone know?

West End is quite local. The place to go is DIX Halfway Inn. It's pretty new but we went there in Feb with about 14 friends and were well pleased. There is a great porch outside overlooking the water and a beach with lounge chairs. Water is great for swimming or snorkeling. The food is a great combination of local & American. We all had different things
so we sampled a lot. The fish tacos were good and so were the wings. Drinks were yummy
We got there about 10 and left just in time to get back to our ship. The owner was present and was a wonderful host. I would have loved to be able to be there later because I think this would be a fun place. You go to West End and turn left. DIX is right behind the little white church. Will go back soon. Have been to Roatan 4 times & DIX is the best.

A new alternative in West End is DIX Halfway Inn. Sundowners is fun also but we found DIX in Feb of this year and it is yummy. Large veranda overlooking the water and lounge chairs on the beach. Food is great and drinks are yummy. If I knew how to post a picture i would.
It is right behind the little white church.

If you are going to West End I recommend DIX Halfway Inn. It has great food, relaxing porch, lounge chairs and a great swimming beach. We have been to Roatan several times & have found DIX. Price is good and hospitality is warm. The raod in has now been paved and there are lots of little local shops to browse in. Going back soon and will head to DIX.

Loved the Holiday. Did a 10 day all the way to Aruba out of New Orleans. I think that was about 2000. It did rock & roll sometimes but really hooked us on cruising.

I just got my copy of the 50th Anniversary Issue of the Captain's Circle Magazine. On page 2 & 3 the ships are listed in an article entitled "FROM OUR FIRST SHIP'S LAUNCH TO TODAY".
The Emerald Princess is no where to be seen. I guess I missed the sale or whatever. Please enlighten me.

Just did the Dream with 10. Usually met in the bar area...lots of nice sofas, etc. & when all of our group got there got a pager. Went about 7. Just had time for a glass of wine before our pager went off. You must have your entire group together before they will give you a pager.

I've read 2. Did not know there were more. Thanks. Will download the others to my Kindle. Took many of the stories with a grain of salt. Enjoyable reading. Now I know when I am on I-95.

On the Dream the Jr Suites say the balcony is obstructed. Anybody know what the obstruction is?
-
Please explain why this was a mistake.

Have been to Bonaire and there should be no problem getting off the ship with a scooter.

We too are in our 70's. We don't do a lot of beaching anymore unless we are with a group. Last time I had arranged a tour but could just as well gotten off the ship and taken the same tour. There were folks waiting at the pier and we took a small bus up to see the White Witch plantation and even though we live in a area with an abundance of plantations it was interesting. The driver gave us a tour around MB and then we stopped at the Pork Pit for lunch. It was interesting. Not our first time there. If you want to see more of the island check Trip Advisor for some good information.

Some of you may remember that around 2000 the Holiday out of New Orleans did a 10 day in the Caribbean. We did Guadeloupe, Antigua, Belize, Cozumel, Ocho Rios and I don't remember what else. None of these places were very developed then. No neat Disney villages...just the undeveloped areas. I agree that the Fantasy class would be perfect for these longer undeveloped areas. This trip got us hooked on cruising and we are always looking for new ports to visit.

The same time actually. You will go into the Platinum lounge and they will go into the regular line. They will be given a number and a seat in the regular lounge and once boarding starts they won't be far behind. We usually drive in about 10:00 and we usually have family with us that are not Platinum.
-
Please do. I tried also with no luck.

NOLA now has a plush Platinum lounge. Big soft sofas while you wait your turn with coffee, lemonade and Danish to munch on. It's no longer to the left but you will be directed. You will be checked in here and they will call you by name. After you get checked in you go to your area and are boarded before FTTF but after bridal parties and handicapped. Get there about 10-10:30 and barring any problems will be on for early lunch.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility of a wheelchair rental for shopping in the port in Belize. He can do the tender but extended periods of walking he can't do. Sailing Sunday from New Orleans.
