  1. 3)Where to eat lunch and dinner on Thursday? Under $20/per-local type cuisine preferred. (we were set to go to Steamworks but read bad reviews about food reheated etc. probably will go for beer though)

    4) If we went to a White Spot, which one? Also read bad reviews about one near Stanely Park?

I know Steamworks gets lots of good reviews on this page, but I find the food mediocre at best. Stick with the suggestions of Cactus Club, etc. Milestones, a BC-based chain, also serves great food along the same lines as Cactus Club. They have restaurants on Robson as well as right on English Bay.

Most of the chains have websites and you can check out the menus and prices on line.

  2. This is a wonderful thread, but if I was looking for information about Vancouver, I might find it overwhelming  with almost 900 posts. Any thought about posting in separate threads so those who are looking for something a bit specific don't have to read through almost 50 pages of posts?

If this sounds "bossy", I'll admit to being a type A personality. :) But mostly, I'd like things to be as simple as possible for people planning a trip to our great province!

  3. These are a bit further away, but certainly walkable (10 minutes?) Both have excellent sushi. Kamei Royale - upstairs, Burrard Street between Alberni and Robson. Tsuanmi Sushi - also upstairs in a little plaza/mall on Burrard - between Burrard and .... (she's thnking) Thurlow? They have a nice little sushi bar where the sushi goes around on boats. In water. You may have seen something like that before. Food is good. Your hotel will be able to direct you.
