@mz-s, I think your link is referring to cruise/port cancellations initiated by Carnival.  Here's the cancellation by customer link.

    https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3401/related/1

One key phrase in the Early Saver language is that the FCC must be used on a NEW booking seemingly precluding transferring it to an already existing booking. So OP, I think you'll incur a significantly smaller penalty if you move the September '23 money to a brand new cruise that's not already booked.

So just get a FCC for a future cruise even if I don't know the new date?

Usually the way it works is once you book under a specific rate code, you are always that rate.  You can get price adjustments though depending on what code you booked under.

Example:  You book under early saver, but later see that a special promotion you quality for has the room cheaper.  You can call or submit the form and they will "price match" that new promotional offer (including OBC, etc.).   However, your rate code does not change to that new one - you are still early saver.  Even if you do this 5 times before you sail.

The only way to truly be under a new rate code is to cancel and rebook.  You will be assessed whatever cancellation penalty there is associated with though.  Yes, good PVP's can sometimes get that waived, but they have become far more strict on enforcing it (personal experience talking 🙂).

So if i booked early saver with $198 deposit but want to change to RU2(Cheers) with $500 deposit. How does that work?

Or do what we did. Notify local police and send video clip by email. These cameras either record to cloud, hard drive, or you can take a 'screenshot'. These cameras aren't just for viewing in real time.

But you have them on camera and just give pics or video to police. We did that a few weeks ago and thieves were arrested.

It’s been since 2019 since I have been on a cruise it’s gone up in price since obviously but now juices and coffee is included?? How about soda and

    bottled water????

Our drink package included bottled water, starbucks coffee(NOT starbucks kiosk), fresh squeezed OJ

  5. Wife and I bought the drink package on our 1st cruise with Royal(Allure) 2 weeks ago. We've cruised with Carnival  since 2007 but never purchased a drink package. We don't drink that much but wanted to try different drinks and see how we do with package. The drink were kinda light and we tipped every bartender every night.

I do know my agent does not have to call to change to a cabin in the same category.

I'm not sure about upgrading as that would involve repricing. ..following

My agent  was able to change it from 8D on 8th deck to lido(8F) on breeze(12/11) without any extra $. That cruise has alot of empty cabins. Wonder the % on that cruise.

Not as long as it was for a previous cancelled cruise.  I have submitted several times (four if I remember correctly) for our cruise next week and it has always been added on to the previous amount of $300 for the cancelled cruise.  The only OBC I lost was $25 that was a part of my booking promotion.  But, the cruise had dropped by $60 that time, so I still came out $35 ahead.

    Exactly answer I wanted. Thanks

  8. So if i have a certain amount of OBC for a December cruise(paid in full) and find a lower price for same category, do i get the difference added as more OBC? Don't want to lose the OBC I already have since it was the $$ from carnival cancelling a cruise early this year. Thanks
