  1. The problem is that some of the most desirable rooms are rated for more than two.

In particular, on the Vista class ships, inside rooms cat I deck 6 and cat J deck 1 are all rated for more than two.

Imagine booking one of those rooms, and then getting booted at the last minute to a smaller room that does not have a sofa, or won't fit your scooter.

  2. HAL has a 'practice' of trying new ideas on one ship to test and sort it out.

Given that 'all' other ships have 50% off during multiple happy hours in different venues, it seems as if the NS is being used to change this.

Yes, I think this is an attempt to increase revenue, and drive guests to HIA.

Holland America Line has expanded its entertainment offering to launch the popular TV game show brand Deal or No Deal on nine of its cruise ships. Powered by TimePlay, a leader in interactive technology, this show format has a proven track record due to its highly adaptable design and strong brand identity and is now on over 85 ships worldwide.

This high-energy live hosted experience invites contestants on stage to deal for cash, and what makes this game unique is that everyone in the audience also gets to play along for a chance to win big, including a free cruise. The program will run once or twice per voyage, hosted on the World Stage or Rolling Stone Lounge, depending on the Holland America Line ship.

    ... really ???

I booked a cruise on Jan. 23. I have tried everyday to "Manage my cruise" without success.

@shiner6 I also have this problem with only one of our upcoming cruises. I have had the problem for the past three weeks. I have tried multiple browsers and changing multiple settings to no avail. HAL customer service has been unable to assist.

Fortunately, I have found a workaround for my problem.

After logging in, select 'Manage My Cruise' from the top menu rather than from your account 'My Bookings'.

  5. One item of interest with respect to the World/Grand Cruise and small ships is that the February Amazon cruise will likely NOT be occurring in 2026. Why is that, because it is scheduled for November 2025. So, is the Volendam going to be used for the World Cruise in 2026, or is there another Grand Cruise during the winter of 2026 for the Volendam? Personally, given most of the potential itineraries for the World Cruise include Antarctica, I wouldn't be surprised if the Volendam is the ship for the WC 2026.

  6. Getting back to the world cruise survey, what I find interesting is that four of the five itineraries include Antarctica. It's almost as if they have already decided to include Antarctica. The last option without Antarctica may have been added at the last minute. I'm not crazy about A or the eastward itinerary. The other three are acceptable to me.

Personally, what I would like to see isn't among the options given. How about a pole to pole with Asia.

    South America/Antarctica

    Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific

    Southeast Asia/Indonesia/Philippines

    Japan/Korea/China

    Alaska/Arctic Circle

Right - they didn’t announce segments while we were on the 23 WC. But there are still many cabins available. I bet they will release segments as the date gets closer. Many of the regular WC-ers said they did want to do the P2P for a variety of reasons. Too cold, too many tender ports, like the current staff/mgmt team on the typical WC… Since both the WC and P2P leave in Jan for similar long durations, I think more people will go on the WC and HAL will have to sell segments to fill the ship.

There are some travel agencies that already show segments for the P2P. The segments are Fort Lauderdale to Buenos Aires (47 days), Buenos Aires to Barcelona (42 days), and Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale (44 days). The segments are NOT bookable, and they do exist.

In talking to an FCC recently, they expected P2P segments to open at a later date. They also said that the Grand Asia was the most requested FCD.
