  1. I’m not sure that Jen Wright that seems to be resolving all of our issues quickly is one person but probably a staff. She did resolve our no cancellation fee issue quickly and our full refund has been credited to our credit card account. We hope all of you have great b2b cruises.

What is the on-board testing policy currently on Princess ships?  I don't think there are any other than up to 2 days prior to boarding for any cruise but please confirm.  How about for a 15-day cruise?  Is there any on-board testing after leaving the embarkation port and if so how many times over the course of the 15 days?  We're looking at a Hawaii cruise in the fall and I certainly know things can change but curious as to the current procedure.

    Thank you in advance.

the port of San Francisco requires that all non-boosted passengers be tested prior to arrival. I noticed that on a recent Ruby cruise that ended in SF that the passengers were asked to provide their vaccination status with respect to boosters. While I don't know for sure I think that Princess is testing non-boosted passengers prior to arrival in SF.

  3. In January the San Francisco Port indicated that non boosted passengers disembarking were required to have a negative covid test result. Does anyone know how Princess is providing this test? We arrive in San Francisco on April 3rd. Is it on the ship prior to arrival or in the terminal? We are wondering if the test will delay getting out of the port to make airport flights. This requirement is different than Princess's FAQ regarding testing for passengers returning to their home country.

  4. I tried to search for an answer but had no luck.

Back in January the San Francisco Dept of Public Health required that any passenger disembarking at San Francisco that was not up-to-date on their vaccinations (i.e. boosted) would have to be tested prior to going ashore. Does anyuone know whether or not Princess provides this test on board prior to arrival? We disembark in San Francisco from the Caribbean Princess on April 3rd following the Canal transit repo cruise.

    2 interesting notices tonight:

    • a letter from the hotel manager that due to local regulations at Maui there will be no liquor service on the ship form 7AM to 6PM while we're in port
    • notice in the patter: "Please be advised that our current directive does not require quests to be Covid-19Ag tested again upon return to Los Angeles. Please disregard the second set of dates of testing which were sent to your stateroom earlier on in the cruise."

    Hmmm.....

I would be more concerned about THIS one.

And why would Princess do that?  🤨

With espect to liquor, do you think they would allow you to purchase liquor ashore and bring it on without confiscating due to this situation? Probably not but you could ask. We were on a Royal cruise to South America back in 2011 and the captain made a special allowance in Valparaiso to allow passengers to bring on a bottle of wine. There is a Whole Foods and Longs Drugs within walking distance of the ship.

With respect to not testing again, the last think Princess once to discover is more positive Covid cases. Not sure which thread but someone indicated that the whole Aloha deck was being set up for isolation - maybe the 1/19 cruise which we are on? There lack of transparency regarding infections is disappointing to us and probably everyone else. If people knew that there were very few or, possibly, many it might have an affect on how the passengers take care of themselves.

  6. We are on the 1/19 cruise. If you make dinner reservations on the app prior to sailing are you given any kind of confirmation of the reservation when you board? Should you go to the dining room when you board to confirm?

Has anyone asked the ship (I know the ship won't answer but maybe someone would) why they are not making announcements about Covid infections - whether there are none or some?

    Thanks in advance.

We had no issues with eMed with our iPhones. I would suggest placing your iPhone on "Do Not Disturb" when getting ready to complete your test. I did get disconnected when someone tried calling me. I was able to get reconnected with another rep and we picked up right where I left off!

Thanks for the reply. I did a search on Princess website and it looks like the Abbot kit that we have is acceptable and with the two day window we may actually be able to use our home PC. When you set up your test session did you have to wait very long for a proctor?

  8. We have just cancelled 2 Celebrity cruises and booked a 1/19 Grand Princess cruise out of LA. In preparation for the X cruises we ordered 2 test kits from X that came from the Optum Store. The kits are Abbot Ag Card Home Test kits and it looks like eMed is the proctor. Do you think these kits would satisfy Princess's pre-arival test requirement?

Also, there is a topic on another thread indicating a problem with iPhone ios problems with emed. Does anyone know if that has been fixed?

  9. Has anyone thought to ask what the protocol will be if there is a positive antgen test result upon disembarkation? False positives are known to happenh with antegen tests. Will you be allowed to enter St Maarten? You won't be able to fly back to the US. Is the antigen test done on the ship or in the terminal? Will the person with the positive result then take a PCR test to confirm the result? I guess I would like to know the answer.

  10. This the the C&A response email. "We have located the record for your sailing onboard the Jewel of the Seas,December 7, 2013. Currently, we are experiencing a delay in processing cruise records from early December. Our technical department is working diligently to resolve this delay. We have combined your files together and once this process is complete, you will be a Diamond member with 1** Cruise Points. We regret any inconvenience that this may cause."

Ours haven't posted yet either. Thought maybe it was due to the fact we had done a B2B with the Nov 30 sailing. RCL also says that it could take 14 days for points to post - possibly from the 14th? We'll keep an eye out and post when we see them.
