They didn't ask me for a PIN, and I don't remember setting up a PIN when I made the reservation. But good luck! I was on hold for an hour.
-
I made the reservation for our two rooms, but put my husband as #1 in our room because I have two last names and it's just easier that way. Our oldest daughter was listed #1 in the other room.
I just got off the phone with them to cancel. I was able to make the cancellation but I WAS the one who paid (they did ask that). On the other reservation, because I guess I gave them wrong info on one of the questions they asked, I had to get someone in that room on the phone to say it was okay for me to cancel it. I called my other daughter who okayed it over speaker. LOL
I think it's worth a shot if he really can't. I went ahead and cancelled today rather than waiting because I'm concerned that they're gonna change their cancellation policy due to the sheer number of folks cancelling. I didn't want to miss out on the cruise credit.

I just cancelled my April cruise and the very nice lady told me that the reservation would still show active all day today, that they have a separate department processing the second part of their cancellation process, and it should show cancelled by tomorrow.
I haven't seen it said anywhere on here yet, but I wanted to share that they are refunding the taxes and port fees, that was a nice surprise. Says it will take 7 to 10 business days for that to happen. I should get my cruise credit via email within 5 days.
The cruise credit is assigned to each person based on the rate they were booked. I booked during a special so everyone in our two rooms has a different amount coming to them.

Taking the risk of school-aged children possibly being quaratined for two weeks on the ship and then two more weeks at a military base.... I'm quite certain we'll be requesting FCC.

I tried to get ahold of Royal this morning and the recorded answer was if you were not sailing within the next 2 week hang up and try after the 2 weeks is over.
I planned on calling tomorrow to try and get an upgrade due to price change on my 4/17 cruise. I feel like all the good stuff will be gone if I wait till two weeks out!

Do you happen to have the daily 'what's going on' papers?
-
lindslea, what did you guys end up doing instead? I would hate for that to happen!

We didn't do the porter for debarkation, and wish we had. We stood in line for a long time.

Alfred's Bar might have some of those styles. I know they have live music, and play jazz. I think they might play classical. They have a small area that could be used as a dance floor (if you don't mind dancing alone) : )
-
What is standard music? (so that I might be able to answer your question better)
-
Or don't go to the shows and eat at 8:00 and then hit the casino. LOL
-
Regarding Halloween - on the photo deck, I saw lots of pictures of people in their Halloween costumes, so I think people do dress up.
Regarding the smoke - I only smelled thick smoke in the casino. It smells even when it is closed. But I didn't notice any smoke anywhere else.

I think it depends on the ages of your kids. Some friends of ours took their teenage sons (16 and 17) on the Conquest, and they were bored during sea days. I think it might be better for the younger ones.

We just got back from our cruise a couple of weeks ago and booked Sandals through Carnival. The tour is not really a tour. You go inside sit at the stage-show area and they tell what you can do while on property like water sports and so on. It takes all of about 10 minutes or so and then you are free to do what you want. Just a suggestion if you want to do water sports sign up early as they tend to fill up fast. The beach is great, food and drinks awesome, you will have a great time.
I concur. It's just a short schpiel about what they have there, where to eat and swim and an attempt to get you to come back on your own. It's done very well and not offensive at all. And the dance contest afterwards is funny. They give away free bottles of rum to the best man and woman. When we were there a married couple won both. LOL
-
We did Sandals while we were there last week. It was really nice. I was able to get a couple of lounge chairs underneath an almond tree - the rum flows freely, the guys at the bar are awesome at making drinks, the Red stripe can be ordered in buckets... I didn't like the hamburgers (boiled) but that's the only thing I have to complain about. They do snorkeling, catamaran, windsurfing thingies....
My husband stepped on a sea urchin in the water and the guys at the little snorkel place put some amonia on it. Even that didn't mess up the experience.
They have a dance contest at the end. I recommend. LOL

So would an insulated cup be the way to go for some of these concoctions? Or can you just whip it up into the drink of the day cup?
-
Plastic flasks!!! LOL I would have never thought of that.
-
Interesting, thanks!

Is dark rum and spiced rum the same thing?
I love coconut, so that will be added to the list. Right now in the pantry we have vodka, tequila and peach schnapps (LOL). Planned on adding a rum in the bag and hoppin' on board.
-
I've never been a big rum drinker, but I see a lot of our yummy drinks here call for a flavored rum. What type of flavored rum is best all-around for the most variety of mixed drinks?
-
Tee Hee!!! ;)
Seriously, I am printing this bad boy out and am going to make a little list of drinks to try. I will think about the bullet. LOL
-
I just want to say I love you all. You are beautiful, generous people who have just enhanced my cruise. LOL
One question, though - when I read Magic Bullet, I think of something a teensy bit different. So there is a bullet that is actually a blender? LOL

Whats with the Mardi Gras thing? What do you do?

I am in the beginning stages of setting up a vow renewal for me and the hubs in Galveston before we get on. Is there anyone who went the Galveston route (not on the ship) and can give me some good tips?
